Police used tear gas, plastic bullets and water cannons to scatter hundreds of students protesting against the government Thursday, while President Hugo Chavez's supporters celebrated the 18th anniversary of his failed coup as an army officer.

Ah yes, the Chavez show. Some people in Venezuela don't find it so entertaining anymore. Others never did. Of course, when you are the only show there is, you don't actually have to worry about ratings, do you?

You mean Chavez isn't the savior or Venezuela that he promised to be? Maybe there really is something to democracy? At least the protesters would likely have the right to protest peacefully under a democratic rule.
