OP-ED: The Conservative Establishment Vs. Sarah Palin

US Politics & Gov't  (tags: usa, politics, Palin, Sarah Palin, abuse, propaganda, republicans, dishonesty, ethics, government, news, media )

A host of right-wing thinkers lash out at the Alaskan star, and she has reportedly angered Fox News boss Roger Ailes. Could this be the beginning of the end for Palin?

Silly Sarah, would hate to see her leave, she is a gift for the Dems every time she opens her mouth.

I'm with you Carol. The fact that this woman actually represented Alaska makes me think that must be one scary place I rather not visit despite its natural wonders. How it is possible that this woman with no brain function and killing instincts considers herself fit to be the president of such a powerful nation and that actually there are people that support her. It's scary. At least some Republicans are not as crazy as she is. Ant to be seen as crazy between republicans, man you really are a case!

I'm reminded of the end of this cautionary tale: There was a little boy called Jim.......
The Honest Keeper heard his cry,
Though very fat he almost ran
To help the little gentleman.
"Ponto!" he ordered as he came
(For Ponto was the Lion's name),
"Ponto!" he cried, with angry Frown,
"Let go, Sir! Down, Sir! Put it down!"
The Lion made a sudden stop,
He let the Dainty Morsel drop,
And slunk reluctant to his Cage,
Snarling with Disappointed Rage.
But when he bent him over Jim,
The Honest Keeper's Eyes were dim.
The Lion having reached his Head,
The Miserable Boy was dead!

When Nurse informed his Parents, they
Were more Concerned than I can say:--
His Mother, as She dried her eyes,
Said, "Well--it gives me no surprise,
He would not do as he was told!"
His Father, who was self-controlled,
Bade all the children round attend
To James's miserable end,
And always keep a-hold of Nurse
For fear of finding something worse.
-- Hilaire Belloc
In this case something worse is quite desirable for the extreme right.
I reckon that if Roger Ailes doesn't have something worse lined up, he is not likely to let go of "nurse Sarah"

I found something precious on Youtube:

Ms. Alexandra I liked that & spend much time on youtube but only for music. That done. This is what I have been waiting for. I made a tweet not long after all these new Tea Party people were Eleccted-- to tell careful what ya wish cause see have been played. You'll see you got punked!! So I knew a real RIP would be coming in the house & it is beginning. I also knew they would destroy her. She could not even lead my dog much less this entire nation. As quoted from one of her main staffers in his new book(NO I don't read that) She said this as GOV. I hate the job. LOL! I have never believed she would run. Obama does know how to answer a non pre given question & answer it with subtabance. Careful Sista sarah they are coming for flesh & you will walk right into the trap. As you are proving by even allow it to bother. Imagine if the President acted up every time he is called...too many! Run Bachman I want you to so bad. Bachman/Palin ticket anyone. OMG Scary no? LOL

Kind of difficult to imagine any one that could embarrass the republican/T's but Sarah and Michelle just might make that hurdle. Bill Maher and Jon Stewart don't really want these morons to shut up and go away - after all they are comedians and do make their living from the many crazy uttering by the idiot fringe. Is it still the fringe or is that now main stream for the republican/T's?

Reminds me of several H.L. Mencken's observations, notable: "As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron." And “The world always makes the assumption that the exposure of an error is identical with the discovery of truth--that the error and truth are simply opposite. They are nothing of the sort. What the world turns to, when it is cured on one error, is usually simply another error, and maybe one worse than the first one.”

Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman have both proven beyond a doubt that they are uneducated women with a penchant for celebrity and money. Lies and stupidity are their claim to fame.

Palin is one of those where I wouldn't be voting FOR the other guy; I'd be voting AGAINST her. Too bad she won't go away, but perhaps she'll be muzzled soon. That would be a major coo for those who engage brain before engaging mouth, yes?

What really amazes me is how dangerous 'fluff heads' like Palin are given so much media attention! Can't people see that she is a strong-willed, mean-minded, self-centered, animal-killing b**ch? - Keeping feeding her more rope!

If this is true, one down now just a bunch of others to go. but we tend to agree with Gary H as it means the Dems will be returned. I think all of these republican nuts will pay severely. Assuming that the vote will not be taken away beforehand by some type of means test. ie if you earn less than 200K you can't vote.

I think people are finally reallizing that reality has hit rock bottom, It may be that the conservatives as well as the establishment types are quite well off, but Sarah Palin has lost her credibility as a useful part of the astro-turfed front of the Tea Party. It really doesn't matter that these conservatives speak it and rely the message of their politics, they just don't like the way Sarah Palin portrays it. She did her job for them and Sarah's antics are losing it's schtick. Conservatives like to do things quietly and subversively. They don't want grandstanding, that can get them in trouble.

It probably is the beginning of the end for SP, but I don't care if it keeps on going as she is just dragging the Republican party down with her. I must say I really enjoy watching her destroy herself with every word.

The only 'fluff heads, idiots and generally ignorant that I see here are those that make the very dangerous mistake of considering Palin, Bachmann, Angle, O'Donnelle bimbo morons. They did not get to where they are being ignorant bimbos they amassed their wealth and political clout acting like ignorant bimbos. Repugnican political success is dependent on small but significant minorities from what used to be considered the extremist fringe. Their 'stupid talk' has become more and more mainstream for the Repug/Tea Bagged Party; consider that now 31-46% of self-identified Repug/Tea Bagged party members ACTUALLY believe that Obama is a Muslim and only slightly less believe that he was not actually born an American citizen. Consider also that for decades the John Birch Society was anathema to Repugnicans and are now part of the Party. Deride the likes of Palin and Bachmann if you wish but the can and have significantly moved the Party to the Fringe Right and they do regardless of what you think of them personally have the clout to keep the party where they helped to move it. Like it or not a growing number of American voters are not only under informed they are under the sway of the Reich-wing media and its stars and more and more of them are becoming believers in the propaganda, believers are dangerous because they are totally immune to facts, reason, logic, reality and truth which is why they are such strong followers of the Christian Taliban of America and willing soldiers of the theocratic culture wars on women, Gays, minorities(ethnic, racial and religious), unions and government that actually governs for the majority of Americans.
Yes, in all truth 'Our Lady of Moose Molesting Tundra Trash' ,Bug Eyed Bachmann, The Chickens to pay Doctors Lady(was the Chairperson of the Nevada Repug Party) are entertaining but they are also dangerous as the insipid, ignorant things that they say arebelievedd by Repugnicans all over America.

Bachman and Palin. "If brains were dynamite they would not have enough to blow their noses". In the words of the immortal Forrest Gump "stupid is as stupid does". They may have support from the conservatives that have less intelligence than they do, but they lack any credible substance or vision of reality. It seems that neither of them have ever attended a world or national history class. They make stuff up and throw it against the wall to see if it sticks. The morons of the Tea Party movement and the Conservative Right get amped up by their buffoonery and donate money and support. I am so sick of the whole gang of Mama Fizzlies that I am running out of insults. Someone mentioned the fact that these women are intelligent and creative. They may be creative and they may garner support, but intelligence, sophistication, compassion, humanity, and patriotism are not descriptions that they are deserving of. Bachman, Palin, Angle, ODonnell, are useless excuses for humanity, an insult to women and womens' issues, and certainly not a great representation of the morals that are the foundation of humanity. Those that support them fall into the same category. Our hopelessly damaged political system and the hateful discriminating polarization of our country have bred these kind of people and elevated them to political and social status. That fact scares me more than anything.

At this point, Ms. Palin appeals, only, to the lunatic fringe.
What I find most fascinating, is the loyal supporters of her and her cohorts are no where, to be found on this site.
Many of us told them, about the end result, but, they didn't believe us.

When you have candidates, who are uninformed and uneducated ranting lies and accusations, like carnival vandors, the outcome can be nothing but negative.
I truly believe, that the Tea Party Republican followers hate our President of color, more than they like the Tea Partiers.
