The fact they were able to "confuse" reporters up until now is sickening.. I think I need some Iodine..:(

According to NHK news, thousands of residents in a 20-kilometer radius of two uncontrolled nuclear reactors have been ordered evacuated. Officials have warned those within a 30-kilometer radius to stay indoors, close their doors and windows and turn off their air conditioners.

450,000 Japanese citizens are sheltering in 2,500 emergency shelters, which are running low on food and fuel. According to NHK, in one shelter, "many survivors are beginning to suffer from health conditions" but "there is no medication whatsoever" to treat them.

Did anyone see the map with all the nuclear facilities already here in the US ? There are 104 of them . We have one here in our state which is close enough to do some serious damage if it ever had the kind of disaster that we are seeing right now in Japan. I also thught this plant was closed down but now I see they have a license until 2030.

I agree they are heroic and most likely will die from what they are now doing. If not soon, the radiation will catch up to them. Why are they not be given more help in the extrodinary situation? Then we must look at all of our Countries, what is the cost to have this type of energy? I would say the cost far outweighs the benefit of the majority of people and is a financial gain for but a few......whom I am sure don't have their butts being radiated.

There is technology that exists that will give us clean and much safer energy, the humanity of all of us must DEMAND that Nuclear be taken off the table everywhere, and those plants on line be phased out or the license not renewed. I know Linda, that map showed that there were 3 reactors in Florida and I wasn't aware of that fact, being new to this State, one being 100 miles from me as the crow flies, but further away then the one that was stuck in my backyard, only 8 miles away, that I fought, along with many others, viciously for many years.

We were suppose to have two towers but our efforts at least prevented two but we still got stuck with one. The Nuke plant was built on a sacred Indian burial ground, disrespected again, but also it is in a high volume tourist area, few roads out from the coast, so no evacuation was possible, and it sits right on top of an earthquake fault......and right at the ocean.....tsunami no question would happen. The cancer rates are up in the area of my birth, and one of the reason I'm not living where I had my roots and a beautiful area is directly related to that being stuck in my yard. I wanted to give my children a chance at life and I never felt safe with it being so near.
