I agree with Anne Marie. The previous Brazilian administration let everybody to destroy the Amazon. The same party is ruling the country now... why should we expect that they stop this madness???

good news if it becomes reality! I remember hearing and reading topics like this before and then we hear they really haven't stopped or even slowly the cutting, logging, roadbuilding, etc at all if any. maybe this time, before its too late.

As optimistic as I may want to be, thats a whole lot of land to cover, but its a much needed start.
