Oh come on Terry, Nickleback is a terrific band and this isn't the first social justice song they have written. Is one of the reasons I have liked this band and the other is they make great music. However with music we all have our own particular taste. Thanks Cal for putting this on. Nickleback Rocks! Yes, and I'm a Grandmother not a young kid either.

I'm w/Dandelion on this Terry.. Great video, although i'm biased toward my favorite, The Playing For Change Band..All their music has a social message..and right now they have Bob Marleys REVOLUTION ROAD, with Marleys son on it. It seems to be speaking directly to the Occupy movement, and everyone owes it to themselves to listen. This is AMAZING music my friends.
This band is comprised of people from around the globe all singing the same piece together, though seperated by oceans, wars, and with the only goal of bring about peace and change through music. There are songs where Tunisian gorilla soldiers have put down there weapons to come together and make music...lets see Nickleback, good as they are, do that!
Cal,thanks again for the video, and a platform to spread where my inspiration comes from!

From urban dictionary!
7. Nickelback Trapped

Being in a situation where you can't get to the radio when a Nickelback song comes on, thus having to suffer through the duration of the song.
Dude, I turned the radio up as I got in the shower because they were playing Bowie, but they played Nickelback next and I was all suds'd up. I got Nickelback Trapped. I hate that!

I usually by the homeless a meal when doing arrons and not have my meal for the day as a way to fast in prayer to others will have a meal.

Great Niclleback effort... now try the Midnight Oil efforts like 'Short Memory', 'Dead Heart', and 'Beds are Burning', Jethro Tull 'Hasrd Times' and 'Heavy Water', Wall of Voodoo 'Country of Man' and 'Living in the Red', and CW McCall 'There Won't Be No Country Music'. The warnings have been out a long time!

I like Jon's idea... a soulful giving that feeds itself without food. Quite a beautiful sentiment, I think. Standing together in whatever fashion we can do is OK in my book, whether we rejoice to the same music or not. Thanks to Hartson for forwarding and, of course, to Cal.

Thanks Cal for a bit of meaningful music in our day. No matter your musical taste it's great to have popular performers speaking about something important.

I'm with Dandelion and Taylor on this one, Nickelback has many socially conscious songs out there, the two mentioned aren't the only ones. Ever heard "If Today Was Your Last Day"? or "Leader of Men"? Even "Savin' Me".... They don't just write about the rock and roll lifestyle without a care in the world. I guess it takes all kinds, and we don't all have to like the same stuff, otherwise this world would be very boring... :)
