The U.S. federal government has designated 108,556 square kilometers (41,914 square miles) as critical habitat for the leatherback sea turtle (Dermochelys coriacea), the largest of the world's marine turtles and one of the most endangered

Gee...can anyone guess why that might have happened? Was the land environmentalists hoped for possibly desired for something else? Say...MONEY?

Just make sure there are beach patrol officers present, as I'm afraid if one of these beautiful creatures stepped out of the peramiter set for them, some dumb blond "surfer dude" may come along and think it's a surf board!
