Good to see him appear to go do, but I agree with Sue, he will not spend time in Club Fed?

Yes, Terry, I was one of those who really endorsed his ideas and candidacy--a true letdown if there every was one!

What a right wing, witch hunt! He's a smart lawyer. I suspect he has his ducks in a row with receipts.

He has a lot to learn.

I never was a fan of Edwards but I feel this is unfair. He was guilty of giving in to temptation and then he did not want his wife to know about it. He wanted to stay with her and take care of her when she was ill. I compare that to Newt Gingrich who served one of his wives with divorce papers when she was ill and in the hospital.

"A federal candidate may only accept and receive a limited amount of money from any one individual during an election cycle, and he must truthfully report the money he accepts and receives, the department said a trial brief."
At a time when Citizens United allows incorporated advocacy groups to secretly donate unlimitted amounts with no transperancy, trying Edwards is pretty much a waste of tax payer monies, and smacks of a witch hunt.
Edwards wss, is a huge disappointment, and someone who's already paying dearly for his past indiscretions. I think persuing a case against Edwards, especially based on a " a novel interpretation of a campaign finance law that has never been the basis of criminal or even civil liability in the statute's history.", seems to support the idea this may be a personal vendetta or some sort of witch hunt! I think tax payer's money would be better spent sending those Wall Street and banking crooks to jail!

What is with the sex angle all the time. Isn't this hypocrisy at its worst. Many North Americans will have affairs, that seems to be just the way things are. This man is a thief and liar those are the crimes and he should pay for for them. But then we should be prosecuting Bev Oda who changes hotels to one at twice cost and doesn't even get reprimanded by Harper who like to appear as God Almighty. She only pays up when found out. Esther Z. sees it correctly.

This suit is not about having affairs. Mike, Janis, Esther you might want to learn a little something about the details before you comment.
This is about using campaign contributions, which are federally regulated, to pay off your mistress. John Edwards is and was a very wealthy man. Why didn't he use his own money to pay and hide his mistress? Then there would be no case. Problem is he didn't.
Thanks Cal.
