Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan is driving a wedge through his country. While one half reveres him as a savior, the other reviles him as a dictator. By continuing to condemn his opponents and ignore their demands, he is playing a dangerous game.

It's 49 percent - 51% voted for him. Troble is, people start thinking that's a mandate.

Erdogan is said to be arrogant and that he'll do anything he likes.

This is it about Islamists. These governments always end up being totalitarian, unless the masses can unseat Erdogan, in this case, but with all the assets of the Turkish government, it's difficult to imagine an overthrow.

Plus the Turkish economy is considered to be more powerful than any other, with 5% growth last year. Of course, if this is true, why is Obama giving Turkey $20 Billion dollars in aid?

Why has Obama written Erdogan twice and asked Ergdogan to give Obama advice on raising his two daughters?

while the planet is warming, looks like winter is spreading across the muslim world. i imagine economics have a lot to do with it. that said, i certainly do not discount the muslim style of government. erdogan is showing the signs of a bullying leader, with aspirations to the power of a presidency over his people.
'power corupts. absolute power corrupts absolutely,' noted lord acton in the 1800s. it's still true.
