We must get over the notion that might is right.
Brazil does have a growing population and something will need to be done about that before being fair to the indigenous people can be addressed. Even so, it would be difficult because of people's greed.

It seems as though none of the native peoples anywhere are allowed to live in peace, even if they have worthless pieces of paper called treaties. If a govenrment wants the land, it will take it regardless of who lives there. Sounds familiar...

Indigenous people from many countries were put on Earth by our Creator for specific reasons. Our Creator entrusted them to take care of the land and they've all done this until the Dominant Society decided THEY wanted the land. When dominant society TAKES land from Indigenous People they usually destroy it in some way. LEAVE THESE PEOPLE ALONE...THEY ARE DOING THE JOB OUR CREATOR GAVE TO THEM!!!

Most native tribes all over the world have been forcefully killed/thrown off their land by so called "colonisers, explorers, invaders " etc. This is a continuation of the thuggery that started centuries ago so same story different era! All the land that was taken from indigenous people MUST be given back to them! This how the Aboriginies, Red Indians, Africans were treated, stripped of human dignity, confined to reservations etc. The Brazilian Tribes MUST be protected & left alone to get on with their lives. Wherever greedy man goes ,greed, mayhem ,imbalance follows!

Thanks for posting this Cal. I heard about it a couple weeks ago...saw a video sent me from my Brazilian friend about it. Horrible what is happening to indigenous people all because of the corporate greed over resources... If we allow it to continue nothing good will come of it for anyone. We dont have a substitute planet to live on ........... I'm with those who love life and for sure these monster corporations dont care a wit. We all need to stand up for human rights because we are in an age where these rights are being taken away faster than we can blink an eye.......

Thanks for this article. Progress is not always a positive thing. In this case it is a very bad thing.

Brazil should be proud of its indigenous populations instead of treating them the way ther are doing
