GOOD NEWS! Indonesia's National Airline Carrier Bans Shark Fins

Indonesia's national carrier Garuda Indonesia has joined a growing number of airlines looking to curb the international shark fin trade by banning the transport of shark fins and other shark products on their aircraft

Hopefully other carriers will follow this lead. Shark fins are yet another example of the cruelty of man toward other living creatures.

Just wondering, did they ever transport shark fins or are they just say that they are not going to do something they never did?

Any improvement is a step in the right direction.Finning is a particularly cruel method of hunting sharks.after the animals fins are removed it is then discarded back into the ocean still alive to die a horrible death.

One rarely hears good news coming out of Indonesia. I was happy to read that Indonesia has also moved to protect whale sharks, a gentle majestic fish.

Oct. 8 Garuda claims to WWF-Indonesia they banned shark fin shipments.

Oct. 23 Garuda's cargo dept is unaware of any ban.

Nov. 18, 2013. Garuda does NOT make official announcement as indicated by WWF-Indonesia.
