New and bigger nuclear weapons to show off (a bit like his bare chest?) pushing on all issues from gay rights to individual human rights; yes Putin wants a war. Not a real nuclear war, even an egotistical maniac knows the danger in that, but he sure would like to use the Ukraine for his own agenda.

Such a Pig. Fomenting unrest and fear, chest thumping to prove what a bully he is.

This man's ego is beyond belief. He is a disruptive force for the people in Russia and if left unchecked will do a lot of harm not just to Russia but to the world. Yes, I agree with Kit B. and Sue's comments.

I aagree with Kit B; Sue H & Winn Adams. Putin is looking for an opportunity to wage war. However, as a Canadian, I don't see much difference between Putin and the Bush, Cheney years. It's all about the $$$

Kit, I have no idea from where you get your news, obviously not foreigners. Then again, must of the comments here are pretty ignorant also. It would recommend for most Americas to please read the histroy from different perspectives,. and watch less hollywood movies please. Does Russia does Russia have a right to defend itself from neocon aggression?

Having read a book about Mark Twain his opinions on the Russian rulers in 1906 is very much in line with the present shower of obliarchs "Government by falsified promises, by lies, by treachery, and by the butcher-knife, for the aggrandizement of a single family of drones and its idle and vicious kin has been borne quite long enough in Russia, I should think. And it is to be hoped that the roused nation, now rising in its strength, will presently put an end to it and set up the republic in its place. Some of us, even the white-headed, may live to see the blessed day when tsars and grand dukes will be as scarce there as I trust they are in heaven." Putin may be thinking he is making Russia great whilst all the while his making sure his pockets are well lined. Bullying the neighboring countries, killing any journalist at whim and helping escalate the bloodbath is Syria shows what an evil and petty man he is.

Imperial Russia wants to oppress the smaller nations again. As for Ukraine is looking for an excuse and finally found it. Ukraine needs to wisely negotiate and this is the only chance to save and keep the country as a whole.

Putin will keep the Ukraine to use and abuse it as it pleases him; a pure dictator.

So this is what we get after playing "nicey nicey" by attending the Olympics despite the misgivings. It's fortunate for us that there are some democracies left in the world.

So sad that Putin has such a big ego. Other nations besides the USA need to speak up on behalf of the good people of Ukraine and Crimea. The planet does not need any additional stupid warmongering. There are at least 204 nations on the planet. You would think at least 75% of them would weigh in on this aggression. Peace to all!

Someone's ego is out of control. I hate to think of the innocent people that have already died and probably more to come. What a stupid turn of events.

@John S - neocon aggression, really? How about just FACTS. 67 BILLION spent on the construction of the Sochi winter games, (piss poorly at that) how many of his "friends" were awarded the contracts to build it? Plus you know he got kickbacks. The destruction of an adjoining small town near the Sochi games and the inhabitants of their town (it was used as a dump site) but hey what's a few thousand peasants to this dictator. His strict enforcement of anti gay legislation and promoting gay violence, again just of bunch of gays in the way of his agenda. Little PUTin is worth (that we know of) 70 billion dollars, gotten honestly, but of course! Russia and russians lives have deteriorated drastically during his dictatorial reign. PUTin is more like Lenin and Stalin, he is a sociopath and a very real threat not only to Ukraine and Crimea but the rest of the world. To minimize him is at best stupid at worst is to further empower him to everyone's regret. I have many Russian and Ukrainian friends who left because of the real threat he is. Oh by the way he is also anti Semitic, but that does NOT get reported. Just like you, have lived in many countries and continents, so yes world perspective and knowledge of history, points me in the direction of being very aware of the danger of little PUTin. Never underestimate the enemy.

Am not certain Aurea, who probably signed a petition to say thank you for to the one who made millions making the he dogs homeless for returning 15,000 to save them, and a statement saying there would be 50,000 more. Actually my Russian Mother in law who lives in Moscow might disagree with you. That they were able to pull off the winter games in a a subtropical climate was/is quite a feat. And you can make up any list of grievances, but why not point out that Obama's reported net worth has increased from $200,000 when he first stepped into the Oval Office to nearly $12 million today?

@John 12 million versus 70 billion you do the math. No I did NOT send a thank you note, nor did I post about the dogs. Let's stay on track. Have you been following the news today? Or is that also all neo con balderdash? Most interesting is you do not dismantle the facts I stated about HOW Sochi was built. Glad your mother-in-law is doing so well. Sadly she is in the minority. But please share with us how the Ukrainian's should respond to little PUT/in currently doing to them? You know the Russian army is in an invade mode correct? Spaziva
