Both the Koch brothers and the Walton family have greatly enriched themselves at the expense of our Planet and all its inhabitants.

You might call them the salt of the earth --- based solely on the number of blood pressures they have raised and how high (certainly mine included, many times over!)

What a network of ultra-right organizations; beginning with the John Birch Society. Anything having to do with that group tells you it's a racist, elitist mob. There's Americans For Prosperity, (NOT prosperity for the 99%, though), and ALEC.....the issues of Citizens United, donations to universities & funding of charter school bills, voter I.D. laws they want to eliminate masses of people from voting. They also want to eliminate the minimum wage and Social Security. A bulk of their money comes from gas & oil & tar sands. Could they be any worse?

"The brothers inherited the seed money for their holdings from their father Fred Koch, who made his first fortune building oil pipelines for the Russian dictator Joseph Stalin in the 1930s. Back in the states, Fred Koch supported racial segregation and white supremacist groups like the John Birch Society. "

Actually, I already did know all that. It is important to know and recognize those who would take freedoms away from all but themselves. That little bit above does prove one old adage, that the apples do not fall from the tree. What a legacy these two will leave having almost singlehandedly destroyed the environment we all depend on for life. I bet they have people working on their own version of Elysium now, for when this environment becomes too toxic to support life. I hope it doesn't work. I know that's mean, but I just can't make myself find any compassion for two of the most evil men the planet has ever seen. And that is saying a lot, I know. Which doesn't make it any the less true.

Noted and shared. All I can do is shake my head. Scum of the earth doesn't even begin to describe these two pieces of unadulterated shit! A pox on their house! I wish only the very worst things for these two and their families and offspring. We do not need anymore little Kochs running around.

The Kook Brothers and the Waltons - and those who think and act like them - are the rottenest, vilest vermin. People like them give the super-wealthy a horrid name they cannot live down.

They want to repeal Obamacare, dismantle labor unions, repeal any environmental law protecting clean water and air, roll back voting rights, privatize Social Security, stop a minimum wage increase and more. They don't care about destroying the checks and balances in American democracy to get their way.

Oh no, they are as bad as I can think. I just wish more Americans would get out from behind their video games and mindless TV programs and really get a grasp of who these people are, who they are supporting, what it is they are supporting, and where it is leading our Country. Alas, not enough people take the time to become aware, in fact most these stories like this get so little viewing by C2 members who entirely overlook anything they consider "political" yet fail to see how the "political" impacts other issues they value. Even many who note the stories don't even take the time to really read and learn informational facts presented on the C2 network by other members.

I don't know how we'll ever combat these grave issues and like the stories I just place on about United States of Secrets if people don't take the time to actually read, watch, learn, and add their voice and energies to this.

It's one thing to be wealthy.
It's another thing to be wealthy, corrupt and immoral.
They are not redeemable.

Bernie Sanders' essay on the Koch bros was posted on AlterNet just a month before the one you've posted here, Cal.

Bernie's article is interesting because he shows how the Koch agenda & ideology have taken over the Rethug Party, issue by issue, point by point, over the last 34 years. Each position --on everything from abolishing the minimum wage to dismantling Medicaid & Social Security-- was part of David Koch's platform when he was the Libertarian Party vice-presidential candidate in 1980, a fringe party ticket that only got 1 percent of the vote, and all his proposals seemed “extremist” and “kooky” at that time. Today, so successful has been their influence in moving the Rethug Party to the extreme right, that all of these positions & objectives, once considered unthinkable, have moved into the mainstream!

Absolutely frightening! These are people who considered Reagan "much too liberal."

"According to Forbes Magazine," says Bernie, "they saw their wealth increase last year from $68 billion to $80 billion. In other words, under the “anti-business”, “socialist” and “oppressive” Obama administration, their wealth went up by $12 billion in one year." & "Now, they want to own the United States government as well."

"The truth is that the agenda of the Koch brothers is to move this country from a democratic society with a strong middle class to an oligarchic form of society in which the economic and political life of the nation are controlled by a handful of billionaire families.

Our great nation must not be hijacked by right-wing billionaires like the Koch brothers."
