For President Obama, fracking is a key weapon against global warming.

Anyone who believes that fracking will help with climate change has to be simply delusional and/or bought off! The definition of madness is doing the same thing the same way and expecting a new outcome. You simply cannot keep burning fossil fuels willy nilly and expect the climate to positively respond.

He might improve the climate but at the expense of the destruction of the land and the eco system.

Not only will fracking not solve climate change, but we're in real danger of gravely upsetting the equilibrium of the earth's fundamental structure.

The fact is, unfortunately, include the United States, along with China and Russia, the largest Umweltvermutzer our world. And that the United States and Canada have signed neither the Kyoto Protocol to date and also the Earth Summit in Rio de Janejro was boycotted by the USA!

Sorry had to correct the text:

The fact is, unfortunately, include the United States, along with China and Russia to the biggest polluters of our world. And that the United States and Canada have signed neither the Kyoto Protocol to date and also the Earth Summit in Rio de Janejro was boycotted by the USA!

Fracking isn't a solution to anything. The only thing it does is damage the environment in every aspect for many years to come. BTW, King Barky was a big fan of Ole King Coal before he became a neophyte of LNG.
LNG and fracking have absolutely nothing to do with cheap fuel for American consumers or national security. It has everything to do with increasing the profits for the greedy bastards who run the energy corporations.

Funny how on the one hand the fossil fuel industry is doing everything to make people believe that Climate Change is just a hoax and on the other hand want people to believe that their new pet source of income will help solve Climate Change. How convenient to have it work it your way when you need to convince some people.

How does increasing the usage of oil solve the climate crisis? If you believe that I have a bridge to sell you. (A bridge over polluted waters...)

Noted. Thanks, Cal. Either Obama was bamboozled by "advisers" or he's just a bought-and-paid for salesman. Either way, he could change his tune in a heartbeat, considering he's no longer up for any election....lame duck. I was hoping he would do an "about-face" on many issues before he left office. His best chance will be right after the upcoming election. Yeah, I'm still "hoping for change" because without hope, all is lost.

No offense meant but we need an article telling us why it won't solve climate change? True, I did not read the article but the headline made me ask that question as it is clear that tracking is extremely bad for the planet, the animals, and us. I guess I would never even think that it could solve anything let alone climate change.

I think Fracking should be banned. Our time, money & energy should be used to convert to Green Energy. I know until that can be done we will need to use some fossil fuels.

Good comments here, I also agree with others that fracking doesn't solve anything it only makes the problems worse. All the destruction, poisoning the soil and water with chemicals and wasting billions of gallons of water. This disgusts me.....it is all about money.
