I have signed numerous petitions and sent letters calling for his release. I still have a "Free Leonard Peltier" button that dates from my childhood. Why is he still in prison? Could it be because he is a First Nations person?

Please set this man free. #1. He is a political prisoner and has committed no crime. #2. Even if he had (which he did not) he has served his time. The only reason he is still in prison is that the FBI will not admit they made the wrong decision when they imprisoned him. He is older now; he is not in good health; SET HIM FREE!!!!! I have been signing petitions for him to be set free for many years now, as a lot of you have. There is no reason that he should have been imprisoned, and there is no reason to keep him there. PLEASE~~LET THIS MAN GO AND LIVE WHAT IS LEFT OF HIS LIFE WITH HIS OWN PEOPLE.

Signed yet another petition, noted. Hoping he will at least be pardoned when Obama leaves office, if not sooner. What a long-standing travesty of justice! Thank-you, Cal.

CERTAINLY signed. It's sadistic punishment far beyond reason.
Leonard Peltier is NO danger to Society.
They release rapists and murderers before this amount of time spent in jail. Who ARE a danger.
It is simply VENGEANCE - and finding a SCAPEGOAT.

The United States has wronged the original Americans long enough. It is to late to right the wrong, but it is not too late to show we are sorry. Free him, apologize, and start treating Original Americans with the respect they have always deserved and never once received.

The trial was a mockery, all this was about is having some Indian's head. Peltier has paid the ultimate price for Indian policies that have been wrong for years. He has done an ongoing Sun Dance. Please release him so he can feel the body of Mother again beneath his feet and die where his heart is. He is old man now with lots of medical issues, let him have time with his grandchildren so they may know of his hugs and love. Nothing is justice at this point, never was about justice, it is just vindictiveness.

I certainly signed and have signed everything that crosses my eyes since my youth concerning this man. I'll never give up on him, but they want him to die in prison. That is the fact of the matter.

Thank you Cal......for remembering.

After other juries had let other suspects in the shoot-out go, the Federal Bureau of Indignation had to find someone to hang the crime upon. Guilt or Innocence didn't matter. They just wanted a scapegoat and Peltier was the sacrificial victim. At the very, very least the DOJ ought to reopen the case, investigate the crime, the original FBI investigation, and allegations of FBI interference at the trial. Peltier should go free.

I do not believe this man is guilty! WHY did 2 of his friends, that were with him when all of this went down manage to escape punishment??? FREE LEONARD!!! He has served more time that a normal murder would constitute!
