Elie Wiesel was called many things during his life: a messenger of peace, a humanitarian, a survivor. He liked to call himself simply a witness

OMGoodness Cal!
I have falling tears and did not know of his death. Frankly, thought they were all gone before ~ *Forgive me!*

Insanity at the Best is what this is called. Those of us that don't have falling tears need to have a brain lobotomy ~ since you are apparently SCREWBALLS!!!

RIP From part of your news dear Cal

Never Forget

When he was just 15, his family was taken from their small town in Romania to Auschwitz and later to Buchenwald.

His younger sister and mother were sent immediately to the gas chambers. Wiesel's father died shortly before the camp was liberated by U.S. soldiers in 1945.

It took Wiesel 10 years before he could write about his experience in his most famous book, Night.

"Never shall I forget that night that first night in camp that turned my life into one long night. Never shall I forget the small faces of the children whose bodies I saw transformed into smoke under a silent sky. Never shall I forget those flames that consumed my faith forever," he read from his book during a trip back to Auschwitz with Oprah Winfrey in 2006. "Those moments that murdered my god and my soul and turned my dreams to ashes. Never."

I could not be sadder. I am so happy he was in our world, his life was a gift to us. " He commented that he hoped not to live long enough to be the last survivor because the burden would be too great.

" There are victories of the soul and spirit. Sometimes, even if you lose, you win. - Elie Wiesel

❤️ :-((( I just watched an interview with this lovely man on television last week and what an inspirational man he was. The world will miss him and his wisdom. So sad, I have a tear or two rolling down my cheek. This lovely mans death will diminish the world by his passing. God Bless him and may he have everlasting peace.❤️

RIP Elie Weisel. He was a wonderful, caring and compassionate man. He survived horror after horror and still was able to be a bigger and better man for everything. The world will miss you and there will never be anyone again like you.
