Nancy Pelosi signs the NHPIRG-supported bill to ban lead from children's products. The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act signed into law is the largest overhaul in the history of the CPSC. This is great news that shows we can all make the difference

Better "late than never" ? For our children's sake we need to try harder next time!
Thanks Raymond :-)

Hi Raymond and Rosemary,

It should have been banned long ago.
I have an Issue in my
Constitutional Amendments Petition' dealing with bad Products needing to be tested, especially BEFORE they are allowed to enter the U.S..
There should not be so many instances of Contaminated Products.

Thank you Rosemary for bringing this to our attention!
*hug* Electra

Thankx rosemary Noted!!

Nancy Patricia D'Alesandro Pelosi (born March 26, 1940[1]) is the current Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. Before being elected Speaker in the 110th Congress, she was the House Minority Leader from 2003 to 2007, holding the post during the 108th, and 109th Congresses.

Since 1987, she has represented the 8th Congressional District of California, which consists of four-fifths of the City and County of San Francisco. The district was numbered as the 5th during Pelosi's first three terms in the House.

With her election as Speaker, she is the first female Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. She is also the first Italian-American and first Californian to serve as Speaker. She is the second Speaker from a state west of the Rocky Mountains, with the first being Washington's Tom Foley, who was the last Democrat to hold the post before Pelosi. As Speaker of the House, Pelosi ranks second in the line of presidential succession, following Vice President Dick Cheney, which makes her the highest-ranking woman in politics throughout American history.

Shows you what I know--I thought they had already banned lead paint. Since they didn't children got to spend another 25 years being exposed to this toxin. Great first story Rosemary, and thankss for passing this to me Brenda.

Thank you Rosemary. Anything that will help the children. Some people knew what the lead could do and nothing was done. Big industry back then. Finally, people found out why their children were dying and decided they had enough. I got something for you to Rosemary, especially since you are back. How are you feeling and glad to see you are back. I just found out about a drug that is legal over the internet that is killing children over the net. I know how you feel about children so maybe you can help with this. It is a drug called Salvia Divinorum, have you heard of it yet. Please look this up and watch what it is doing to the kids. They can buy it over the internet. This is the first time I ever have heard of it. You did such a good job on this one, maybe you would like to write about this one. You go Rosemary. I always look forward to your helping the children. Missed it very much and I am so glad your doing it again.

Pam thank you and just for everyone's information regarding Salvia Divinorum
This perennial from Mexico, listed as an atypical psychedelic, is obviously dangerous! How it can be sold on the internet is beyond me Pam!
I might just find out and let you know!
I wonder if the people selling are aware that they may soon be 'busted' !

You go Rosemary! I'm so glad to see you back and fighting, great job! You know I would have thought this would have been taken care of back in the 70's when I was little, just goes to show. And it's about time Pelosi did something positive, what a let down she's been.

Just a thought and short "shout out" to all dear friends on this Holiday Season, not that i need to because you are all intelligent folk, but i just wanted to say... please take a moment to check the toys you buy and make sure they are lead free with no magnets. I didn't even realize that the costume jewelry for little girls from China had lead in it... remember, it was recalled! So SAFE HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY... Take care , i care :-)
