Sam - you asked about your title here:
The title is misleading in that it isn't the title of the article - it is an analysis of the content ! In fact, it is less misleading than many titles you create for C2NN posts! This time, you've played down the Israeli angle in the title ... a very different group would have leapt in had you called it "Israeli Mossad Goes Rogue, Warns U.S. on Iran Sanctions" as per Bloomberg's title!

A very interesting article - and far from the first time that the intelligence & the military leadership have indicated disagreement with Bibi's strategies. Won't be the last, either, I suspect ... But who listens except those already worried about the negative impact of the strategies Bibi & co promote .... ?

Thanks Sam

I will abstain from posting further news items for as long as C2 has these terrible tech issues, which are more the norm than an exception. It is just their extremely poorly designed software, not even capable to always display all characters correctly. And that is the same in all PMs as well, a clear sign they cannot deal with UTF 8.

I MIGHT add this, however: NONE of these representatives and senators would probably allow themselves this dimension of Israel's influence IF their AMERICAN constituency would REGULARLY MAKE IT CLEAR TO THEM to stop, this isn't what they have nor will give their vote for.

@ Evelyn - have you NEVER before noticed that ALL of Sam's chosen titles for a newspost are usually exactly that- HIS personal analysis of a newsreport's content. And mostly quite accurately.

"Each time someone stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope."

- Robert F. Kennedy, U.S. politician.

Politicians and many congress people seem to mostly represent themselves. One has always had to be more than hopeful, and push back to protect rights and change the status quo.

Well said Jess B. Where is Darren W. I know he would know what to say about this. As far as our politicians, WE put them in office but somewhere along the line you have to stop and wonder WHO put them in. HUGS TO ALL FROM TEXAS.

Particularly your NJ moron Senator needs some duct tape over his foul mouth and someone please tell him that HIS talking points sound like coming straight out of Tel Aviv, which they most likely do.
Wishing you good luck with your Israeli occuped territory on the Hill !!

The state of affairs is pretty accurately described here by Robert Parry:

"Showing who some in Congress believe is the real master of U.S. foreign policy, House Speaker John Boehner has invited Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session and offer a rebuttal to President Barack Obama’s comments on world affairs in his State of the Union speech.

[...] The Boehner-Netanyahu arrangement demonstrates a mutual contempt for this President’s authority to conduct American foreign policy as prescribed by the U.S. Constitution.
Besides this extraordinary recognition of another country’s leader (or its intelligence services-,I 'll add) as the true definer of U.S. foreign policy, Boehner’s move reflects an ignorance of what is actually occurring on the ground in the Middle East. Boehner doesn’t seem to realize that Netanyahu has developed what amounts to a de facto alliance with extremist Sunni forces in the region.

Not only is Israel now collaborating behind the scenes with Saudi Arabia’s Wahhabist leadership but Israel has begun taking sides militarily in support of the Nusra Front, al-Qaeda’s affiliate in the Syrian civil war. A source familiar with U.S. intelligence information on Syria said Israel has a “non-aggression pact” with Nusra forces that control territory adjacent to the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

The quiet cooperation between Israel and al-Qaeda’s affiliate was further underscored on Sunday when Israeli helicopters attacked and killed advisers to the Syrian military from Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Iran. In other words, Israel has dispatched its forces into Syria to kill military personnel helping to fight al-Nusra. Iran later confirmed that one of its generals had died in the Israeli strike." [...]

He's been making NOTHING BUT FATAL POITICAL MISTAKES, for years! Only bad thing, the fatality hit the Palestinians, not himself.
Thx Ros - and time to pull that ambassador!
