Contrary to what the gun lobby argues, personal firearms in the United States are rarely used for self-defense.

I wouldn't believe anything the NRA stated. They lost credibility oh wait did they ever have any? Maybe they did at one time but not in my memory.
Thank you

If Hamas is a terrorist organisation, then why isn't the NRA??
Both are claiming self-defense!

"other advanced countries"?? I think the president needs to rephrase that, time to acknowledge that the "gretaest nation on earth" has turned into a backward republic!

The NRA, sock-puppet of arms manufactures and dealers, keeps telling people they have to protect themselves against the "bad guys". But "[] for every justifiable homicide involving a gun, 32 criminal homicides carried out with a firearm occurred. And that does not take into account "tens of thousands" of gun-related suicides and unintentional shootings. Yet after each new shooting like the one in a Charleston Church or the Sandy Hook school, gun sales soar again and again.

It isn't just the NRA who is at fault for telling lies, it is also the very large number of Americans who want to hear and believe those lies and those myths rather than "lose" some of their equally mythical "right" or "self determination" "to the government". Really... only in America.

"Pee in my face and tell me it's rain" syndrome.....the NRA and all other lobbyists own the government....and regretably they own us too.....we're influenced by them and sadly we listen to them. Wake up people! Thanks Sam.

I think that if our forefathers knew what gun technology would become they might have written the 2nd amendment a little different. I also think that the 2nd amendment is wonderful - if we only use the technology available at the time it was written.

Kathy - and if the political & social context were the same ... because at that stage they didn't have functional forces of law & order ...

Most of the world sees the US gun lobby as a sick sign of residual racism ....

How many MORE massacres in public institutions must take place with unbalanced individuals & gangs using arms that psychologically they are unfit to handle responsibly?

And parents who give an adolescent a gun???

And churches which offer guns to new young church goers?
Kentucky Baptists giving away guns to lure new churchgoers
Giving Away Guns For God - Kentucky Baptists attract nonbelievers to church with the promise of free firearms

And churches which have lotteries with a rifle as the prize? Praise the Lord & 'double tap a zombie': Missouri pastor gives away AR-15s for Father’s Day
AND
Gunning for God: Troy, N.Y. pastor to hold church raffle for AR-15-type rifle
AND
Assault Rifles for Christ
AND
Baptist church gives away an assualt rifle as a prize (for teenagers)
AND
Gun worshiper wins semiautomatic weapon at church raffle in upstate NY

Strange how often it is Baptists involved ....
Do they believe in baptism by fire?

The NRA is having the politicians in their pocket.
