He should have donated any fee he would have made to any veteran charity.
He would be embarrassed to collect anything after he lied us into a war that started a chain reaction .
Thank you Sam

He shouldn't have charged any fee, and they shouldn't have paid for it.

The "lecture circuit" for power possessors and power hungry attention seeking egos looks to be thriving and making millions for them. America has a very strange attitude and sense of right and wrong.

Figures--really it shouldn't come as a surprise. Loathe the Bush family--find them rather repulsive in every possible way. Like he needs a few more bucks in his pocket. Douchebags both he+his wife. Another perfect example of the rich ensuring they remain so. thx Sam

George W Bush always gave the impression there is something missing in terms of his lack of compassion and empathy. Of course this could be considered to be a partisan poke at him but with his inordinate sense of his own entitlement, and he's a very skilled manipulator. And in all the snickering about his alleged idiocy, this is what a lot of people miss. When he said "Fool me once, shame . . . shame on . . . you," followed by a long pause, then, "Fool me — can't get fooled again! .What was revealing about this is that Bush could not say, 'Shame on me' to save his life. That's a completely alien concept to him. George W Bush is a man who is absolutely proud of his own inflexibility and rectitude. He would not see it wrong to be a Veterans charity and ask for expenses at $100,000 he is cheaper than Clinton or even some of the political washouts that do the same.

Reagan/Bush/Bush makes me wish I had been born dead.

There really isn't anything to add to the headline!
Besides, in my view to get paid to raise money is pretty perverse in itself, no matter how common practice that may be. Particularly for a cause like this!

He should give this money to all the veterans. Why would they even ask him to go there is a mystery to me.

Noted. Oh, that face! I promised I'd never look at it again....change channels, flip the page..... And the words that come out of that mouth----people PAY to hear him speak? But, this is just way too much; beyond shameful! I definitely hope all this bad karma rubs off on his brother's presidential run. That whole family is evil.

CNN--yes, CNN is reporting this too, as well as The Guardian, Huffington Post and The Daily Mail--quoted Bush as saying, "I've decided to dedicate the rest of my life to helping our vets, to helping those with whom I was honored to serve." As if he was right there on the front lines with them? Excuse me, I have to go find my "happy place" now. Shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks.

Just what one would expect from BushBoy. Keep this story on the front burner so we are not burdened with another Bush! Yikes.

@ John Gregoire, excuse me but obviously he does in point of fact charge for speaking at these events otherwise this would have never been in the news. However, George W. Bush is a proven liar and he'll lie about anything as will his supporters. Go crawl under a rock, take Dumbya with you.

@John Gregoire you bumpt you head again didn't you .it's pretty slimy when you send them off under false pretentious . and they when they come because you have used their bodies all he can and there is nothing left to fight the enemies with you take their money , of which they probably don't have much , if any . and hurt them again. so very sad .

Tell Jeb Bush: Convince your brother to return the $100,000 he received as a speaking fee from a veterans charity

He should do the right thing and give that money back to the veteran’s charity that paid him to participate in the fundraiser -- but so far he has ignored requests to do just that.

Despicable is the first word that comes to mind. I'm just not so sure what is more despicable - GWB? I wouldn't expect anything different. But what about those who paid him? Where's there self-respect and dignity?
