"I just want to see him out, I can't bear it anymore, that he sat and lost all of his life in jail, it's a crime, it's such a crime," said Anne Pollard.

This is a typical example of "Laws shouldn't/don't apply to Israel". It's no real crime to steal information that the US chose not to share with Israel ... but under such logic, Israel shouldn't be condeming Mordechai Vanunu, who shared Israel's secrets about their nuclear programme ...

Reminds me of "What's yours is mine .... what is mine is my own" ...

Not doubt right-wing pro-Zionist Israeli Americans feel that Pollard did nothing wrong ... they'd do the same if the occasion arose. When it comes to the crunch, if one's first loyalty is to Israel, loyalty to the US is shelved if inconvenient ..... and that is right and good, and shouldn't be questioned or judged by anyone ... to question, to judge, would obviously just be pure anti-Semitism. (Or a case of "self-hating Jew" if the questioner is Jewish ... maybe even treachery if one is American Israeli living in the US and placing the US in priority position?)

Penny and Barbara D would "know" ... I'm sure they'll view Pollard as a hero rather than as a traitor ... as would Bob.

What a crap this woman is uttering. She said they regret nothing so why whining now. And what's all the fuzz anyway if there are indications of his early release on parole in as little as 4 months time?! Can't they even wait until November, gee.
He should be LAST on the list for parole, I can certainly think of some others to come first, like Peltier and Woodfox!
Thanks Sam.

Turkish, Russian and Chinese spies who cause US incomparably more harm were out in less than 5 years.

Pollard served almost 30.

Israel is not the worst enemy of US, and Pollard passed Israelis data on Arab armies not even on US.

It is time to show some respect to Israel.

O.K. Bob go ahead and spy for Israel (if you haven't done that already) and we'll make sure they'll give you only five years in jail.

But your chances are quite slim, for intelligence services require intelligent people!

And if they ask for any recommendations, we'll be happy to tell them that you're a nitwit of the highest order.

I don't want to repeat what is in the other relevant post (Another Attempt By Israel to Blackmail the US and the World: You Want Your Iran Deal, Release Our Scumbag!)

But I'll repeat this:
Isn't it strange how people defend Pollard, considering that he was treated badly, on the basis of his spying for Israel (or rather, for a group within Israel, since the Israeli government assisted in the enquiry and pinned down a group to which he had offered his services)

And in so doing, completely ignore that he was spying for anyone who would pay for his services ....

I quote again:
"The agent in charge of counterintelligence for the Naval Investigative Service who caught Pollard has said that he was involved in illegal activities to help countries besides Israel. Ron Olive wrote that Pollard confessed that before he spied for Israel, he passed classified information to South Africa, his civilian financial advisers and a member of the Australian Royal Navy. He also admitted passing documents to Pakistan “in the hopes it would take him on as a spy.” " (Jewish Virtual Library source)

A mercenary spy, who happened to be Jewish and who included clients in Israel amongst others ......

But who should have special treatment (as has had his wife & co-spy) because he is Jewish, now accorded Israeli citizenship .... ??????????????????

He admitted his guilt, let him accept the consequences of his treason.

Just saw this from the New York Times:

U.S. will parole Jonathan Pollard in November after 30 years in prison as a spy for Israel
Tuesday, July 28, 2015 2:22 PM EDT

Jonathan J. Pollard, who was sentenced to life in prison in 1985 for passing classified documents to the Israeli government, will be released on parole in November after 30 years in prison, a government panel decided on Tuesday.
Mr. Pollard’s lawyers announced the decision of the United States Parole Commission on Tuesday afternoon, and officials at the Department of Justice confirmed that Mr. Pollard had been granted parole.
Mr. Pollard, 60, had been scheduled for a mandatory parole in November, but could have been kept in prison for years longer if the United States government had objected to his release, citing concerns about an ongoing threat to national security.

Will the Soviet Union's heirs and other beneficiaries of his spying also go out of their way to make a hero of him & compensate him for the price he paid for taking money for US secrets?

Or will Israel be the only country to put him on a pedestal and facilitate a smooth slide into comfortable free living? (supposing that they can arrange for him to fulfill parole conditions from in Israel ......)
