BubbleTrees are anything but average tents. These prefabricated, globe-shaped tents are transparent so you can't get much closer to nature unless you sleep outside. The tents, which are currently only available in Europe, come decked out with portable....

At these prices, I'd have to sell my house and live in the bubble.

"One of these pop-up dwellings costs about $9,000 to $17,000, depending on which model and extras you choose."

What an ultimately ridiculous idea. If I had an extra $17,000 I certainly wouldn't spend it on a see-through plastic bubble that has no structural support. High winds? Falling branches? What a completely stupid concept.

Looks very funny, but I prefer a little more privacy.

I bet these will be a great hit on nudist beaches and camp grounds .......if they weren't so out of sight crazy in their prices.

I think one would be a great experience to try even if for a weekend wherever...as long as no high winds that is..

Also...I would think that a cloudy day would be better than hot direct sun shine....?? INteresting to be in one on a rain day/night I bet....

Mountain side with a view would be a great place to enjoy one but for 17K we could build ourselves a 'tiny house' that could withstand wind and heavy rain :-) .

If you don't mind taking chances that you'd be blown away with the wind, that's fine with me!! LOL Thanks Jae.

What is this crap? 9k to 17k? Please. People can have sex in their cars w/o a lot of people noticing. That's not gonna happen in this so-called bubble tent!

I would love to have one of these, but the cost is WAY too much for me. It would be great to have one set up in our woods and sit there having tea in the afternoons. Lovely thought.

A night in one would be interesting but I need dark to sleep and privacy is always good. Also I couldn't afford one

Noted. Very cool to look at, but for that money, couldn`t you build something? But it would be fun to have one, and you all know it would!!!

They sure look cool, but are they comfortable to sleep in? how do they perform onthe insulation dept?

If sniffed by a bear I'd like to hold out hope I could hide in my tent. There's no hiding here (lol).

Interesting concept. Not interested even if the price were reasonable. I like a little more security than these appear to offer. But the idea of a more substantial tent with a "moon roof" appeals.

Lovely! Very interesting. On the plus side, you can see who or what is coming. On the plus side for someone or something else, they can see you too.

If sniffed by a bear I'd like to hold out hope that I could hide in an RV...ta heck with a tent when it comes to bears that up close and personal ! :)
One of these for back yd. relaxing and sky watching would be fun to have...no transporting, set up or taking down every time you want to enjoy it. Just pump it up and enjoy. Keep them far away from fire pits and bbq grills would probably be a wise thing to do also.
Now they just need to get the price way way down.
I don't see why they wouldn't be as comfy for sleeping as a tent as long as one sleeps during night hours only. Insultaion..hummm...plactic is a good wind breaker but so are tents. Same for temp variations as a tent probably. Maybe even a tad warmer in direct summer sun light ?...but oh what fun to be in one when it's raining !

Hummmm...good idea Sharon...a tent with a moon roof..I like that concept . Just make the top portion of one of the pop up type dome tents clear ...

Interesting, if expensive way to immerse yourself in a natural environment without the inconvenience of the weather. One big question...how much noise does the pump make that keeeps it inflated?

If something happens to compromise or punture your big , expensive bubble , would it be like being trapped inside a big , plastic bag ?

Well, I see everyone has a wonderful sense of humor about this "bubble". I agree the price is pretty steep and our weather is pretty precarious [not to mention the 'bear' thing]... Exhibitionists should really get a bang out of it, though!

It was great fun to look at. Didn't anyone notice how the "bedroom" was done...It had opaque white "walls" about half-way up the bubble... Perfect for privacy in bed ... until somebody walked close enough to the bubble or until you stood up! Isn't that enough privacy? NOT! But it was great fun to look at and would be fun to visit, just wouldn't want to live there! I also like Sharon's moon-roof idea... I'll bet some merchandiser is running with that one right now!

Hmmm! I guess a campfire's out! Snicker!! Too cool!! What happens when you get a flat? Patch kit I guess. We stayed in a sphere once that's suspended in the trees. Verrrrrry fun! A little sea sick when the wind blows! Thanks Jae!!
