A bill increasing penalties for animal cruelty in Alabama House Bill 27 was given final approval and awaits Governor Robert Bentley's signature.

This is def a step in the right direction....but I'd like to see tougher animal laws with sentences at a minimum of 5 years handed out to all vile animal abusing sadists. Thx Ginger.

Yes, this bill is different & it appears that it was the only one that passed. The Shelter Reporting bill failed & the Spay/Neuter Clinic bill failed.

Now, I hope they'll use the money to educate people in kindness to animals and to care for the animals' needs.

This is great news to hear! I wish all states would follow suit too. This is an example of why some states are better to live in than others.

This should apply in each and every country - and should have been implemented a long time ago. We need to alleviate the pain and suffering animals have to endure because of us.
