(Reuters) - The world's wealthiest people have responded to economic worries by buying gold by the bar -- and sometimes by the ton -- and by moving assets out of the financial system, bankers catering to the very rich said on Monday.

Few people understand what this actually means.

And even fewer people know that there is a much simpler answer to the imminent economic collapse than "buying gold"! Start participating in local currencies, employment exchanges, and self-issued credit systems! Then it doesn't matter what happens to the ungodly dollar.

Peace to all.

Of course, the 'super rich' are buying gold by the ton. They are the only ones who can afford it.

Could be the start of the end of paper money if and when it becomes more worthless, new I should have bought gold, instead of stocks after 9/11.
Although what can you do with a gold bar anyway.

That's a lot of gold! But what can you expect? The rich have the money to afford it.

As long as they remember: At the end of the day, the king and the pawn end up in the same box with the same amount $$$ they were born with.

Greed, Greed, and more Greed. Some people just can't get enough money and stuff. When it comes down to it, I guess they really aren't very happy. They would rather see others starve and suffer so they can have more. You know the old adage, money doesn't buy you happiness!! What if something else became more valuable than gold, and no one wanted gold anymore???
