After two years of record-low ratings, both CBS News executives and people close to Katie Couric say that the "CBS Evening News" anchor is likely to leave the network well before her contract expires in 2011 -- possibly soon after the presidential inaugur

I don't know why Katie's career is followed so closely. Is it because of WHO she is; the MONEY she makes; or because she's a WOMAN? CBS was in last place before she took over the desk - though Bob Schieffer serving as an interim anchor after Dan Rather left raised the ratings. I just don't see CBS's problem as being her fault, or such a big deal. She's made history, and I guess the men like to 'dis' her, but it's gotten old . . .

I'm only loyal to my local news station team. I usually flip between Katie and NBC's Brian Williams, or a cable news show. I've never cared for ABC's Charlie Gibson, though he's a favorite since taking the job.
