And here we are over in the West with temps of 40C+ and the threats of electricity cuts! At least the dams in Queensland are slowly filling a little.

We have had steady rains since before Christmas, to the extent that we are actually getting "puddle" in the hollows where tree stumps have been removed, showing that the ground ... and we are on a sloping block ... is well and truly saturated. Over an inch since NYE. GREAT

Yes is still raining here in Brisbane too Chrissy, but they say they will not be lifting our water restriction which are on Level 6. Not that we want to water our gardens, as the rain is doing that but washing the car would be handy since we have to go to a recycle care wash and pay $13 to wash it at present...man are they making money out at the car wash...an hour wait to go through the laser and even longer if you want to DIY....now the North Pine Dam is near us and algae is in it so they can't use the water anyway.....all our drinking water is filtered in a free standing machine and once the rains go down the catchment area it will get even muddier in the dams so glad we bought the water machine before the drought as that was over $1000.00 then, hate to think what it will cost now if we needed to purchase one. No we don't have a rainwater tank as by the time it would have arrived it rained anyway....can't win
