The UN maps highlight hundreds of damaged buildings with red dots, but they only tell half the story. Hamas used many of Gaza's buildings - including houses, hospitals and schools - as sites to launch rockets and carry out other attacks.

Instead of trying to keep the Palestinians safe, Hamas knowingly and intentionally endangers them.

A very complex and difficult situation. They're intentionally using people as pawns in a dangerous game of chess, which is not uncommon with any two warring factions; the soldiers are the pawns. . . More bombing is just going to result in more deaths, on both sides. . . and naturally for this level of human mindset, each side thinks it's justified in its actions upon the other. . .

Imagine if in court cases the jury only got to hear the prosecution speak. There would be an overwhelming if not 100% conviction rate. This is what the OIC-influenced and anti-Israel media is doing by only presenting the effect without the cause. It is like only being told "man A punched man B" without being told man B was caught stabbing man A's daughter". The UN's red dot map is just that, the effects of the response without being told the cause for the building attacks in the first place, that Hamas was using those buildings and areas for rocket launching.

Good solid reporting - kudos to the IDF for restraint in the face of these barbarians

Shil, people around the world are saying that Israel must not defend itself yet these same countries have entered other countries in the Middle East to meddle and kill. America is responsible for ISIS and the deaths of the many Muslims and non-Muslims but no-one cares.

What we all know yet for some strange reason Israel is condemned for attacking legitimate targets in these areas.
The IDF has shown remarkable restraint fighting these savages.

Restraint my ass !!! All of Gaza is not worth the life of 1 Israeli soldier . The Gazans voted Hamas in so live with it ! I want to see what Europe and America will do when things get lively by them . Forget about America . The fearless leader is on the golf course and can not be disturbed .

why would anyone imagine the pro-muslim UN would provide a map of the region which showed gaza in anything but the light of victim? or suggested that israel may have had powerful reasons for its military choices, reason that prioritised the lives of its citizens in the face of relentless terrorism?
