Hopi Sinom, including Thomas Banyacya and Dan Evehema, foretold of a time when hurricanes, storms and wildfires would seize the planet if human beings did not care for Mother Earth. They also warned if the secret agenda of coal mining was carried out on B

URGENT ACTION ALERT! On May 23, 2008 the Office Of Surface Mining (OSM) opened a 45 day public comment period concerning the proposed Black Mesa Project: Peabody Coal Company's massive coal-mining expansion plans on the sacred ancestral homelands of the Dine' (Navajo) & Hopi peoples of Black Mesa, AZ. Peabody Coal's plans would devastate whole
communities & ecosystems and de-stabilize our planetís climate for their own personal gain. Your voices are urgently needed before the comment period closes July 7, 2008! Please send a letter to OSM to Protect the Indigenous ancestral homelands of Black Mesa!
Stop Predatory Development and Catastrophic Climate Change! Support a Community-Led Just Transition to a Green Economy!

* No to mining fossil fuels!
* No to Peabody's Preferred Alternative B.
* Yes to The People's Preferred Alternative C which is a 'No

Action'. (No dirty coal mining expansion!)

STAY POSTED UNTIL FURTHER DIRECTION COMES FROM THE COMMUNITIES WHO ARE ON THE FRONT LINES OF RESISTANCE! A SAMPLE LETTER WILL BE POSTED OUT IN THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS. (Visit http://www.blackmesais.org and other websites listed below for a sample letter &/or for additional info.)

The Black Mesa Project Environmental Impact Statement (BMP-EI outlines harmful impacts to every level of the ecological and cultural systems on Black Mesa and has global
repercussions. If we don't stop these plans, Peabody will have the green light to:

* Lock in mining rights until the coal runs out or until 2025!

* Substantially accelerate global warming and cause an ecological meltdown.

* Destroy thousands of acres of canyon lands, vanishing indigenous vegetation and shrines or burials.

* Blast the land for coal & deplete air quality, increasing the health risk of the local residents and their livestock.

* Deplete an underground source of water that residents depend on to survive by pumping massive amounts of water.

* Uproot & relocate families from their ancestral homelands where the coal mining expansion are.

* Sacrifice human dignity and planetary health for elite profit! Peabody would cause many more problems than what is reflected here.

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN SEND YOUR COMMENTS: (STAY POSTED FOR A SAMPLE LETTER SOON!) You can send as many
comments as you want on different issues, as long is it's before the deadline on July 7, 2008. Your comments must directly address components of the EIS. Alternative C, (No Action), is our preferred alternative.

Alternative B is Peabody Coal's preferred alternative.

Peabody coal company, like most corporations mining the Earth for profit, is rooted in sacrificing human dignity and planetary health for elite profit and is out of alignment with common sense values. Its roots remain sunk deeply in the history of
colonial genocide, corporate power grabs, and ecological devastation.

We all need to do our part. I have no children, and plan on having one child and adoption. Care2 is leading the way vegetarian/flexitarian.

Thank you for the information, DancingDove.

Yeah I did a paper on the Hopi prophecies, very interesting and their is a village called Hoteville where the elders tried to stop technology from coming into the village. Some of these elders went to the United Nations sometime in the 1990's I think to warn the UN about this kind of thing also I think I remember they predicted something about the twin tower disaster also.

Blessings and love to you all. This issue of Peabody coal is near and dear to my heart. I spent many months living in a hogon on the res, sheep herding and tending gardens. It was a very amazing time of my life in 1996 and I still am involved in this issue because I knew then that that was a powerful energy center. We are in for a rough ride anyway but why let the continued rape of our Mother continue to make it more imbalanced and more drastic. I know a lot of people don't understand about sacred sites and energy vortices because they can't see them yet they turn on the radio and energy they can't see turns into music...

Here is some info from a Hopi Prophecy:

A Message Of Hope from the Hopi Nation

To my fellow swimmers,

There is a river flowing now very fast.
It is so great and swift that there are those
who will be afraid.
They will try to hold on to the shore.
They will feel that they are being torn
apart and will suffer greatly.
Know that the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore,
push off into the middle of the river, keep
our eyes open and our heads above the water.
And I say "See who is in there with you and
celebrate!"
At this time in history we are to take
nothing personally, least of all ourselves.
For the moment that we do, our spiritual
growth and journey comes to a halt.
The time of the lone wolf is over.
Gather yourselves!
Banish the word "struggle" from your vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner
and in celebration.
WE ARE THE ONES
WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.

An ancient Hopi Indian prophecy states, "When the Blue Star Kachina makes its appearance in the heavens, the Fifth World will emerge". This will be the Day of Purification. The Hopi name for the star
Sirius is Blue Star Kachina. It will come when the Saquasohuh (Blue Star) Kachina dances in the plaza and removes his mask.......

These are the Signs that great destruction is here: The world shall rock to and fro. The white man will battle people in other lands - those who possessed the first light of wisdom. There will be many [ send green star]

columns of smoke and fire such as the white man has made in the deserts not far from here. Those who stay and live in the places of the Hopi shall be safe. Then there will be much to rebuild. And soon, very soon afterward, Pahana will return. He shall bring with him the dawn of the Fifth World. He shall plant the seeds of his wisdom in our hearts. Even now the seeds are being planted. These shall smooth the way to the Emergence into the Fifth World.

The story depicted on the prophecy rock continues on by showing how the leading clans of the Hopi migrated in the 4 directions, then turned left---forming a Swastika symbol. The clans that followed migrated in the 4 directions--then turned left---forming reverse Swastika symbol. After journeying in the 4 directions, they were to return to the center. When they reach the center it will be the end f the fourth age.

The Sioux, like the Hopi, traveled in the 4 directions after emerging rom the underground. The Sioux also believe that man has evolved hrough 4 ages, calling them the Age of Fire, Age of Rock, Age of the ow, and Age of the Pipe. The length of each age is unknown, but the prophecy is that during the time of each age, man would gradually
become a "two-heart".

Noted The signs of Mother Earth have been read for 1000s of years by 'wise ones' and proved to be right. IMHO, its because of the closeness and love of the land that this gift has been given for some to see, hear. Books can teach many things, but nature is the greatest teacher of all ~ IF you let yourself be open to receive the message. thanks my firnd Hugs, Rhiannon
