WASHINGTON -- Animal and plant species have begun dying off or changing sooner than predicted because of global warming, a review of hundreds of research studies contends. These fast-moving adaptations come as a surprise even to biologists and ecologi

the U.S. rapes the planet the most, are we going o end up having to destroy the U.S. to save the planet if we can't reverse the stupidity of the U.S.?
I hope not.

Well.......Now what do we do in the face of this?

Every time I read about this I envision the chaos that is to come. Some pray, some take what action they can. But how on earth do we reach all the people who go merrily on their way oblivious to what we know......

How do we reach the masses to reverse this monstosity in the making!

After the year 2012 if prophecies come to pass then hopefully the earth with be renewed and hopefully we will have our lost animal and bird species back with us. Only time will tell. Governments and Leaders only care about the mighty Dollar and little else as do many people. They just turn a blind eye and do not listen to advice.
Even some scientists have been giving out warnings but can we stop the process? or is it too late.
Its like the Murray river system in south Australia. It is at the lowest it has ever been.
Sure the is concern by many but what can they do? It is the dollar again and cost to save the river.

The magical thinking of the Bush Junta still is in denial of the reality of the onslought of the now apparent global catastrophe.

One can wish it away, or think happy thoughts for a future world stocked with reconstituted erst extinct flora and fauna, or pray to their favorite supreme deity or turn into frightened jello feeling helpless; OR they can start to help reverse this mess by signing petitions and making our voices heard in supporting FCC regulations to quash media consolidations that are affecting how we citizens receive our news dealing with environmental issues that now are sanitized and controlled by just 5 or 6 corporations. We need an open transparent government and media to inform the public so that we, the public, can then make informed decisions about matters that directly affect us (like the environment). Oh and plkease support organizations like Greenpeace, Environmental Defense, et al that need the $$$$ to fight the bureaucracy and corporate mentality!

The biggest problem in the world today is greed, and although Governments tell us that they are doing the what they can to slow down Global Warming, they are doing basically nothing. There have been many different environmentally friendly inventions which could take place of the ones we have today but because the Governments will have no control over these things and will loose out on Taxes to support their fat lazy life styles, they will not allow these inventions to become popular. ie, water powered cars. no pollution, water can be taken from any river, creek or stream, therefore we have no water powered car. Government looses control if we do and also they loose revenue.

News? As most of us who should already know that extinction has been happening since the beginning of time this is not suprising at all. It's only a reminder of what is going to continue to happen until there is nothing left. If anything we need to hope, pray, and try to preserve what we have left. This doesn't include our youthful appearance that seems to matter more to people than reality but thats going into another sad and costly topic.

Being angry does is time to change this and think of how we can make little differences each and every one of us." If the people will lead the leaders will follow." Watch the movie An Inconvient Truth. Ask all the people you know to watch it. There are little things we can do each day to help this problem. Recycle, walk when you can or take a bus, replace the light bulbs in your house with energy saving bulbs, talk with your local electric companies and ask them if they offer "Green Energy." if they say "no" ask "why." Please think of our children and their future.

. . .global warming is just another sign of living in the "end times." After all, I believe the Bible speaks about the world being destroyed by fire in last days-- Of course before the fire comes, many beings will have disappeared-- hopefully crossed over to a better place and time in space--

Sad but true and tis par for this course we call living Real Life 101 eh--

I think the best thing that the people in the USA can do is to care about the planet and vote to save it at the polls. If a candidate is wishy washy on what is occuring, no vote! just find the best candidate to vote for that cares about what is happening to the earth. If no caring candidate is running in your district, run yourself and get your friends, friends of friends etc on care2 to vote for you!! I think WE as a group carry a lot of clout if we chose to use it ALL.

This comes as no surprise to me. I know it's here, and probably the only thing we can do is try to slow it down. With more people driving SUVs, Hummers, and the like, it's going to really heat things up a lot faster than we can slow it down.

Extinction is not inevitable. We have to support technology to reduce emissions and fight climate change. We have the means to clean up the mess that we've made, what we need is the will.
