Depressed women seek more sex than those who are happy because it makes them feel secure, a new study confirming long-held beliefs has found. Women with the blues, suffering from mild to moderate depression, have as much as a third more sexual activity

here's one reason why: women with depressive disorders have lower self esteem...will take any attention then can get...however, a history of failed relationships or one night stands will lead to deeper depressions...

NOT ALWAYS THE CASE BUT I AGREE,THEY THINK THIS IS WHAT WILL HELP BUT ONLY HURTS MORE WHEN THE REJECTION COMES AND WHEN THE HANGOVER HITS

Your right Littlewing, but where do they get there information? I'm depressed, & I sure in the hell don't need a man to make me feel secure & happy. My cats & kids is all I need.

The heart of this article are 3 words - "blues", "mild", and "moderate". Anyone (including myself) who has ever suffered from a severe depression is not going to feel like having more sex - it's enough just to hang on to your sanity and get through the day.

I agree with all here, especially Shirley. Well spoken!

There should be an entirely DIFFERENT word for severe, clinical depression. It's not anything like the blues or mild/moderate depression.

Thanks for posting this Cathryne.
