This year, Israel set a new best, with 30 start-ups nominated in the RH Top 100 Europe category, where Israeli firms compete. Israel had more companies on the nominees list than any other European country, except for Britain (46) and France (33).

Early last year, the news mention a situation where many of our recently manufacture televisions had webcam devices inside them. Apparently, even though, most of these televisions were not set up for using their webcam devices, individuals—well more like hackers or high-tech criminals—were remotely activating them and spying on the owners of these televisions.

I am not sure if they were getting passwords or banking information or not. I also do not know if they were just spying on the owners.

However, I know these televisions were being hacked into by way of the webcam system whether the webcam systems were activated or not.

Since I never upgraded to the new television technology—I still use a color Orion television with a Magnavox digital-analog converter box, I really know very little about the more modern technology.

My television and converter box work and look like brand new. I get great reception with approximately 30 local stations without cable or satellite television.

Now, back to the article, despite how magnificent this new technology is, there are criminals out there waiting to take advantage of it.
