Israel: Veganism Promoted in Defense Forces!

Soldiers who declare themselves Vegan receive faux-leather boots, receive special vouchers to buy their own food and may refuse vaccinations if they oppose animal testing. Hopefully this progressive policy will influence other militaries to do the same!

Little Israel does it again! What a wonderful, progressive attitude! Now if all the other military establishments in the world, especially the huge US one, would do the same it could change lots of thinking and save a lot of suffering for animals.

I praise you Israel. Such a small country yet it produces more than its share toward humankind's advancement. It would be a far darker world without it. Thank you!

Now if they could just properly feed the emaciated dogs at the IDF bases things would be a lot better.

Once again Israel shows its tolerance for all kinds of diverse beliefs.

Hey Paulo Rocha -- (doesn't that mean roach).

Maybe you ought to ask why there are dog poisonings all over Europe by Muslims? Islam's prophet Muhammad hated dogs, especially black ones, and ordered them destroyed, and his followers are still doing it -- not just in the Islamic world, but also in the West, where dogs are beloved.

Wow, that's impressive. How many other armies give their vegan soldiers such options? Kudos to Israel.

A much enlightened policy, especially compared to their Muslim neighbors in the area who use donkey bombs to attack their enemies.

Good for Israel.

Israel leads in more things than most countries. Good for them!

Hey Patricia Martin. "...Rocha -- (doesn't that mean roach)".
No, why don't you look it up, it's Portuguese.
Martin, does that mean stupid?

Do you realise that the link you posted has nothing to do with feeding or"Emaciated Dogs"
and has no relevance to the topic.

The IDF caring for its soldiers-- kudos to them

“The link you posted has no relevance to the topic.” Really? Are we not talking about the IDF? I’m talking about their dogs. Chained to fences all day long with no protection from the heat and sun and very little food (probably low on water). Click under “home”, “fight against animal cruelty”, bottom of page two. It is an Israeli web site, and all the animals listed there are suffering in Israel. Some under the IDF.

Paolo R, funny how you care about these dogs, yet if it were Muslims abusing dogs (commanded by their cruel 'prophet') you would jump in and defend them. Very strange indeed. Strange values.

To me, as a non-vegan, there is a big difference between abusing animals and animals killed for human consumption. The first suffers for days, weeks, months, and years. The second don’t suffer or suffer for a few minutes. You know you and Gillian have this habit of assuming things about me. You don’t know me. What makes you think I would support Muslims who harm pets? I don’t! I don’t have to be a vegan to support animal rights.

Israelis are known for their cruelty to street animals. Just check on the site I posted above. You would figure that with $3 billion dollars a year in aid from the US (my taxpayer money!) these IDF clowns would be able to feed, house, and water a dog.

I currently have a US$3,000 reward leading to information, capture, and conviction of 5 kids who set fire to a puppy in Israel in 2011. No one has claimed it. I have also funded many of the organizations in Israel who are helping to save these animals from a life of suffering in the streets of Israel.
