Obama said there's no precedent so 'no mechanism' for revoking Cosby's 2002 prize but also said "I think this country, any civilized country, should have no tolerance for rape"

Obama was answering questions about his Iran nuclear bargain when a reporter asked if Cosby's Presidential Medal of Freedom would be yanked
He said there's 'no mechanism' for revoking the 2002 prize but what the comedian is accused of doing to dozens of women is 'rape'
'If you give a woman, or a man for that matter, without his or her knowledge, a drug and then have sex with that person without consent, that's rape,' the president said
'And I think this country, any civilized country, should have no tolerance for rape'
Lawyer Gloria Allred who is representing victims says that White House must come up with way of revoking it

Very happy with his comment regarding the subject. As I understand it unlike an Olympic Medal with all the medals given out imagine since Cosby has not been found guilty in a court of law there isn't much he could do and if he did how many other medals would be taken away.
Still pleased by the President's comment. He's probably grateful he wasn't the one who gave him the medal. George W did.
Thank you Evelyn

The title is a little misleading, but that's the Daily Maul for you. It took a long while before SIR Fred "The Shred" Goodwin was stripped of hi knighthood. These things don't happen overnight.

John - it might still happen - but they'd have to find a way of doing so; how to do this is a question that has never arisen before ....

Julia - wouldn't bartender be a bot risky, put others in danger?
How about "environment engineer" (a.k.a. garbage collector/ street sweeper)? Preferably in an area with lots of horse & dogs ..... ?

How many more stars of my youth are going to turn out to be abusers???? I loved his early diskq ... like "Noah" - before he was a TV VIP ......

I am not an American but I was very pro Obama
Not any more there are a few instances where he has shown such weakness I would not trust him I am happy he is going for America he came in with all his rubbish talk but did very little no different to the rest I am sure his pockets are well lined

The President could try to start a process to take back the medal but he Republicans would stop him. He called it right and that's all he can do.

Serial rapist, Bill Cosby, definitely should be stripped of his Presidential Medal of Freedom; this is a no-brainer!! I take great pleasure in just knowing that his lengthy history of serial raping of 40+ women shall be his Legacy when he Rots in Hell!!
