India: Celebrities And Brand Ambassadors Will Be Held Accountable For The Brand They Endorse

If the act becomes a law in the coming monsoon session, endorsements will never be the same. Now celebrities will be held accountable for any advertisement that is found misleading, since brand ambassadors influence consumer choice. Good point!

I like it!
I'd like to see this everywhere! Kudos, India!

No more "it was just a job" - they SHOULD take responsibility for what they help sell!

Yes. Celebrities have the attention of the Press/Media and the public who put them there. They have a responsibility to act with a little care and attention. . . . unless they're merely self-seeking attention seekers.

Brands ought to be a little more aware these days, that adverse publicity can sometimes make OR break them.

Noted. Thanks, Evelyn.
Really good to see this. I hope as others do that this will spread to America as well as other countries.

This is something that should extend around the world, especially in the US. I'm tired of seeing celebrities selling things that are substandard. Thanks for the post, Evelyn.

Great news, Evelyn - have to spread this to my many Indian lady friends. I believe it's high time that one can not hide anymore behind "having just done a job".

Now imagine if this would extend to our politicians ... that'll be the day!!
