From what I've watched over the years, children that are big brothers or big sisters to a sibling with either a physical or mental disability learn early on how to rise to the occasion. It develops within them a strong moral fortitude and they also tend to be more compassionate towards others who also struggle or are considered the underdog.

Glad this video is making the rounds, a good reminder to us all.
