A man came home one morning, rounded up the six family pets and, one by one, allegedly shot them to death, reportedly in front of his own children. He has been charged with multiple crimes, but faces only misdemeanor animal cruelty charges for the deaths.

It is not only about animal abuse, but child abuse. He was "punishing" the kids by killing the pets. He made the 9 year old stay home from school and clean up the carcasses! This story causes quite a stir in the local press when it broke. Many people in WI are outraged by this man's actions, and the story comments in all WI Gannett papers were full. I sent the story to several animal rights groups and a letter to the DA hoping justice would be served for the animals and the children involved. This is the first I have seen anything more about this since then. Thanks for bringing this out again. Maybe we can actually convince the DA to take this case seriously.

I have been on the receiving end of this kind of monstrous behavior when my ex husband murdered all three of my cats in front of me to me me bend to his will. I'm number 147...they can't do enough to them!

"There should be a blanket law across the board that sees to it that this never happens and discourages bullying family members from using these innocents to demonstrate their brutality. These people should be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible and no less."

I do not understand police and officials who impose a fine at most, and don't arrest them. Any person capable of such an act is capable of doing the same to humans. Even if they don't care about the animals, don't they get it that a man who would do this could very well come home one day and shoot his children as he did the animals? Why don't they arrest them on that basis, that they are a potential threat to themselves or others? Take way his guns and license to own a gun. There are so many things I do not understand.

I really to believe we have aliens living among us, the word human or humane, has no significance to them, send them back to outer space where they can't hurt anyone anymore.

Noted, thanks Valerie. Just as there are some people who should not be allowed to own or drive cars, there are some people who should never be allowed to own guns. This man needs serious psychiatric evaluation and perhaps prison time. His children certainly deserve something better. They should be placed in a home with healthy, stable people where they will no longer be witness to anything like this ever again.

This is not a misdemeanor this is a crime that should be punishable just as though he had shot a person, not only because he shot the animals but because of the trauma he caused those children.
someone like that does not need to be on the streets who knows what he would do next.
