How Norway and Japan Subsidise Whaling

Norway and Japan are using taxpayer money to subsidise unprofitable whaling industries. These costs, combined with declining whale meat demand and negative risks to trade or tourism boycotts, make commercial whaling unlikely to produce economic benefits.

More indication of the corruptness of governments who put an action into train and it gathers a momentum of it's own. They seem powerless to stop the monster they have created and spend more money and effort on PR to prove their wrong is right! Hang on isn't this where the US and UK goverments got to with the Iraq war and the UK inquiry into that fiasco has still to start. Sadly we in the UK and US don't have a very high seat on the moral dung pile to criticise the rest of the world! Thank God for the Captain Watson's of this world or there will be nothing left for our grandchildren if the greedy so and sos get their way. UK petrol prices are already rising because of the discredited banks dabbling in futures against oil again, so slowing any chance of speedy recovery. When will the greedy learn?

Mankind likes to boast of being the most adaptable species, yet these nations cannot even adapt to life beyond the Stone Age. The Canadian government, too, is insane in the membrane for slaughtering any living thing that crosses its path
