Florida DEP Proposes to Close 53 State Parks

In what has become an annual exercise, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) along with other agencies, yesterday presented to the Legislature reductions they would make if ordered to reduce their budgets by 15%.

I don't know that teh headline is accurate: Wildlife agencies must give budgets and plans in response to probable budgets to the legislatures anywhere.
As in the Bush years, nonprofits, and people like YOU must take up the lobbying to prevent permanent loss and extinction in the face of those elected by interests that want to exploit the land.
