Signed ! I can't believe I just read that. It's really easy. Instead of pulling a trigger that kills, you pull a trigger that tranquilizes. NO BRAINER. kill happy people. Agrrghh....

Glad they've met their goal, but this really is something to think about. In order to not have a shoot-on-sight order, there absolutely has to be a local team of trained marksmen with the right anaesthetic to deal with this kind of thing. Believe me, if you ever see a mountain lion or a bear up close or in the flesh, your first response isn't aw, isn't he cute! Especially if you have kids, elderly folks or pets. A proper alternative way for dealing with escapees without killing them must be established.

murder is never the answer. tranquilizing the animals and housing them in a sanctuary is the only answer. the people won't need to fear them, and the animals will live.

If we are going to allow people to have wild animals (and Ohio has a bad history in this regard, especially after Zanesville), then they should not be punished for being what they are. Law officers should be trained in the nonlethal ways of capturing and transporting animals. Just shooting should not be the answer.

Already signed & shared! Most of these animals are being made to pay the price for bad social policy which allows people to keep exotic and endangered animals as pets! Absolutely ludicrous and outrageous. If zoos can use tranquilizing darts why can't police? The most obvious solution to this problem is also to enact laws that prohibit individuals from owning these animals in the first place! That would make the most sense and also save the most lives.
