Wow, I SO agree with this information! I love going to thrift stores now, where I buy pretty much everything I need. When I bring an item in, an old item goes out, so I donate a lot back, and that makes me happy, too. Think of donating this way: someone out there needs that item, and you are preventing them from having it if you keep it unused in your house. Thanks, Megan!

I am using the same shaver since 1985 - it is 23 and a half years old. I am taking my pocket computer with me tomorrow when we go on our trip - it is at least sixteen years old. I am also taking on the trip my jungle hat I bought in September, 1988 - it will be twenty years old next month.

I am slowly using up what I have - using it, or giving it away.

Why do we complain about how the environment is being screwed up when we continue to buy electronic toys we do not need and will not make us happy?

If you absolutely need something, visit thrift stores and yard sales first and see if you can find it for l/8 of the new price (or less). Been doing this for the last forty years.

Excellent post, Megan.

Help the animals and donate usable goods to your local shelter shop.
