we always plant a garden. this year we are expanding it to help offset the high cost of food and fuel. what we don't eat right away we freeze and enjoy all winter. nothing better than fresh veggies.
early spring stuff has been in the ground since the end of feb here.

Thanks. The skunks and other critters visit my backyard at night and like to dig up any freshly turned earth- looking for earthworms I guess- so I have learned to not even attempt a vegetable garden. But I will surely consume more veggies as the spring crops become more prolific!

I've been growing my own fruit and veg for years now, but I intend to really up the ante this year and be as self sufficient as possible.

Thanks for posting.

So many of us continue to garden as we were taught by our parents. This involves natural soil amendments and generous amounts of manure. Only the farmers went high-tech out of greed. The little people, for the most part, did not. REAL gardeners make the best farmers and actually love the earth.
