'Absolutely no hoax. I want your questions in the box,' Heene said, waving a cardboard container before going back into his home." That sounds like he feels he can't answer questions real-time, instead needing time to come up with "valid" answers. Also noted was the fact that the boy threw up, on cue, when a specific question was asked.

The family was on one of those so-called "reality" shows and he's a storm chaser. Can we say thrill and attention seekers?

Geri M, the concern was that the boy was IN the balloon. That implies it had some sort of passenger compartment, otherwise he would have suffocated from the helium.

They were on 2 episodes of 'wife swap'. The kids were horrid-cussing, rude, was the dad. When he worked as a storm chaser he took the kids workers were afraid for their safety. The dude's nuts.

The media went overboard on this, spending hours covering the story. Why? Our #1 question was how could the family not see that the "basket" wasn't attached? So...what was the media and the family thinking? Fine the family, then forget about them.

I don't think that they are the most normal or nicest of parents but I don't know if they staged the whole thing or not. I hope that they are guilty because they have already been found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by the media. I repeat what I posted on another news story that there are a lot of questions about this story. For instance long before the balloon landed and they found that the boy was not in it, I heard Wolf Blitzer of CNN announce that the authorities had notified them that a boy had told them that he saw the 6 year get off the balloon before it had rose up. Wolf Blitzer did not say if the boy that said that was the same as the brother who originally reported that the 6 year old had gone into that balloon. Why is the media ignoring this fact? There have been other important facts that have been reported differently by the media. First the parents were not there when the balloon went up, then both the father and mother and all the children were there and taped the whole thing when it went up, and then the father was not there when it went up but the mother was there. ???????????????

I had to call 911 on Friday-3 "youths" IN MY GARAGE LOOKING IN MY CAR WINDOWS....They RAN as I came out the door-I'm 62 and disabled....It took the "officer" 25 minutes to respond and I was told "he'd look into it"....

These people need to PAY BACK ALL THE COSTS OF THIS "HOAX"...And be FINED...They sure have a NICE HOME.....NICE TRUCK....FREE TIME TO "invent"....on his job as a "storm chaser"...

Sure wish I had been able to LIVE LIKE that at ages 16 thru 58 instead of WORKING...I MIGHT NOT BE DISABLED NOW!!!!

noted and thanks Terry !
Well it appears this man also has a terrible temper .Seems the police had responded to several domestic abuse calls.
Personall I think this man is not dealing with a full deck and to my estimation he is also a danger to his family .
These children deserve better parents . I saw the snip or the kids during the Wife Swap episode and any parent who raises their children like heathens is to me not a parent. Maybe the wife if she were not with this jerk could be a good parent but with him she is placing her children in danger.
Did anyone think anything was wrong with a 6 year old child weighing only 32-36 pounds and did you see the way he ate that pizza the media crew bought him like he was starved ? If I can remember correctly my children weighed quite a bit more than that at that age .

I never knew anyone could vomit on cue like that maybe a little epicap was given to him before the interview that or else he is sick or this child is seriously effected by this ordeal . I honestly feel so sorry for these children they deserve so much better . Some people can't have children who would make wonderful parents and then you have those who have child after child and treat them like garbage because they have no idea how to be a parent.

I tried hard not to judge these people but these are beautiful children being raised to lie and have no respect by parents who have no clue how to raise a child with love by teaching them honesty and integrity .

I read in my local newspaper that the kid gave away the story when asked why he did not come out of hiding. He looked at his dad and replied that it was for the 'show' so he could not come out. And this was overheard. Out of the mouths of babes. It is a disgrace for parents to use their kids like this!

I hope they pay back every cent and more... And I hope that child rebels and becomes the truth teller of the family!!

Thanks for the post Lone.

Peace to you all...

I hope the law makes an example of this irresponsible jerk. What troubles me is that during the maddness no one in law enforcement or the media did one iota of investigating, before zoning out like Zombies believing the lies that came out of this man's mouth.'s necessary to expedite a search, but someone back at the nuthouse needed to ensure that something else was not amiss. The balloon certainly did not look as if anyone or thing under a pound would have set the thing afloat. I fail to understand media's love affair with stories of this ilk unless it's coverage is for no more than to sell air time. Reality shows make mini stars out of the garbage can of society giving them fifteen minutes of allusive fame. We allow the media to bambozzle us with the reality gendre as the latest "shiny" thing on the tube. The corporate "suits" shove these cheaply produced vehicles down our collective throats passing them off as entertainment, while the knuckle dragging fans drool in anticipation of the next segment. We have become a pitiful nation of lazy non thinking slugs. The Heenes, Jon & Kate, OctaMom and all the parents of Nanny 911 all need to be investigated by child services. You may not care what happens to these children, but someone should. They're not objects that parents own, they do have a right to privacy. Everyone has heard the horror stories of child stars once that spotlight is gone, what happens to these youth of reality tv who are thrown into the limelight through no fault of their own? We've stooped to being a nation of voyeurs no better than peeping toms, the eternal rubber neckers who slow down traffic to watch someone else's misery.
