I cannot abide animal cruelty. It is a sign of severe mental illness and as in this particular case, the person should be sent to a mental hospital and then to prison which in itself is not helpful to a person who would do this horrendous act. Ongoing therapy is needed as people who are cruel to animals carry this behavior over to people whether it be children or adults and need strict supervision the rest of their lives. Some type of severe punishment is needed so they see how it feels to be abused.

Thank goodness the sea lion is getting better and might get to be released back into the wild. I have zero tolerance for animal cruelty. Zero. That is whats wrong with this world. There should be strict punishment for things like this. Its a felony and he should have to do time in prision for it!

I support the Marine Mammal Center. Thanks to them that they have saved this victim of animal cruelty. There are so many cases - I hope this man pays for what he did. And how ironic that this news piece comes from a publication with 'Loewes' before everyone's eyes - thousands including myself have petitioned against them for their selling of cruel glue traps. Thank you for the article, Terry. It is so important to keep this issue in the forefront in our news.

Certainly hope he gets jailed for a long time - if he has had previous jail time maybe he will have three strikes and then life. maybe a bullet through his eye would make him feel bad lose weight and suffer a miserable death
