Not saying that anyone deserves to get hurt, but there are so many idiots who just can't be bothered to pull over for emergency vehicles ... it really pisses me off ...

How do you not see a fire truck coming at you? I can understand not hearing the siren, but to not see that big vehicle with all the colored flashing lights? The driver of the car should be responsible for all costs, including any losses incurred by the people involved in the emergency the fire truck was responding to.

Close your eyes for a second and imagine what it's like to have breast cancer. Imagine the fear, the uncertainty and the pain!
Well according to the ACS this is how 211K women and 460 Men will feel this year. Let's prove to them (us) that they are NOT alone. WUSLU will be giving ALL profit to Breast cancer research for all sales until 10PM on Friday 2/12/10! The least you can do is to share this with ALL your friends

I think it is pretty hard not to see or hear a fire truck coming. They should have been paying more attention! Thanks & noted!

It sounds, from the article, that the driver of the car was passing in an area of road where they did not have a clear view of what lay ahead, in other words, passing illegally. The driver of the car needs to have the book thrown at them, endangerment of lives, further loss by the people the truck was responding to, taxpayer money that will be used to repair the truck, while putting it out of commission during the time of repair - thereby endangering even more people. That area has a lot of back roads that are hilly and winding. Add to that the snow and slippery conditions. Then add in an impatient driver, and this is the result.

Btw, I have also submitted my comments regarding the "past member" posting what amounts to an AD, as being inappropriate. This is not the place to put such comments, it's off-topic completely, and I have to question how someone who is not a member is allowed to post here.
This is not without sympathy for all cancer victims, including breast cancer, since I've had breast cancer. I know, firsthand, what it's like, and what the results can be.

I also flagged those comments as inappropriate when "Past Member" had a name. I'm surprised they were not removed from this thread. Peace to you, Merrily.

The fire truck or the ambulance, are moving are high speed in order to over come the emergency situation. It's a part of our duty to let these vehicles move first.
