With a kitchen knife, the woman cuts off her husband's penis, then stabs him to death. His physical abuse and his decision to take a new wife drove her to such action. Polygamy is legal in Bangladesh but is a rapidly waning social practice. Only 10 per

Most men I know can hardly deal with one wife. I feel bad for their child. Thanks for the post Terry

I believe in one wife, one husband, for life. I know not all people see the same way but evidently some of their ways don't work too well either. I feel so sorry for their daughter, Mim.....she is the innocent by stander that is going to suffer the most if she is left destitute and alone. Thanx for the post....definitely a thought provoking one!

I believe in one wife, one husband but I cannot condone what she did. Why didn't she just leave him?

I would've liked to do this to my ex. But if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Don't jump all over me for that statement. It' the only reason I didn't do it.
My heart goes out to this woman especially since she will not be there for her daughter now. What is the punishment in Bangladesh for a woman murdering her husband? Does the abuse she suffered come into play?

We read all the time about the terrible things done to women by men. I guess once in a while the tables get turned.

finally one of these women, right or wrong fight back. I live in a very small northern town in bc canada, and our town has seen what these men do to there families, one woman was set on fire cause she talked back. Another stabbed his beautiful very smart daughter to death, because she had a boyfriend that was of another culture. They both used honor as an excuse to do what they did.

a cornered animal turns vicious, so does a woman, when driven to the brink of insanity by her abusive spouse

Interesting, that someone here confessed that she would have liked to kill too!. Wishing this afterwards is a regret of not having committed murder. I wonder what kind of people I have here around in Care2.

When someone suffers so much for so long that one day they simply SNAP, they've already been to Hell and they aren't afraid of much. If she was brutalized and abused, she might also have been afraid for her child. Sadly, the "justice" system in her country will not sympathize.

Ralph, if you haven't been in the situation, please consider that the person who posted, regarding her "ex", did choose the right thing to do.. get out. I think you might be very surprised how many women in here have suffered from abuse, in many forms, and from varied people. There was a time when I was one of them, I chose to get out to prevent me doing something I knew was wrong, and that I would regret the rest of my life.

I am also a survivor of domestic violence. I totally understand the feeling or wish to do the same. in fact I was ready to do it, but for the grace of god go I.... I got out. and I have broken the cycle of violence with my 2 sons. As a nurse, dedicated to preserving life, it blew my mind that I could actually see me killing him. you see, he went from me to my oldest sonwho broke inside. Many years of counseling and love, and now is kind and loving. you are so right Deborah, we have already been in hell.
