The outgoing chief executive acknowledged he made mistakes but said he had been "demonized" and wouldn't change any of the fundamental decisions he made following the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon.

Huh? BP the model of social responsibility in response to the spill? You mean, like, not giving clean crews any safety equipment? Suppressing press coverage? Firing clean up workers if they talked to the press? Scrimping on reimbursing claims (you know, that they would only reimburse "legitimate" claims)? What about the alleged threats against witnesses who were called to testify about the events leading up to the explosion? If this represents a "model of social responsibility" then I must be Mother Theresa. Sainthood for all!

Really, while I am glad that Hayward lost his job, I'd be much happier if he were thrown in jail. Oh, am I demonizing him? I'm sorry, poor little thing being picked on like this.

Not surprising coming from a guy who openly admitted to having no idea what was going on in the Gulf. Apparently he was very out of touch and without a radio when he was busy sailing around on his yacht while BP made one huge misstep after another here.
