Some scientists are putting forth a new theory that the radiation given off by cell phones and other high-tech gadgets is interfering with bees' navigation systems. Signals from nearby cell phone towers are preventing bees from going home.

this abandonment of bee hives around the world is a major concern for those of us with bees. It has a huge negative impact on all crops (fruits, berries, vegetables) which need bees for pollination. That cell phone radiation can be the cause is not a cheerful thought since bees are not the only living things which could be sensitive to this form of radiation

Very interesting.... I never would've thought about cell phone radiations being the cause but it does make sense. I hope after this study has been proven that they'll find a solution.

noted Holly! There is a guy down our street that has a pile of beehives and he said this year wasn't so great. We all put it down to the lousy weather we had for summer. Interesting story!
