Poachers have devised a sinister and cowardly way of killing African elephants: They are poisoning them with cyanide.

Tragic. The poachers and anyone who is involved in selling and buying the ivory should be jailed.

15 years of labor is good, but hanging would send an even better message to the other poachers.

Until we all view the care and respect of animals as an international duty, things like this will only continue. We need an international education day and a unifying action to show our shared commitment.

The kind of person that still wants ivory today with all that it entails will never be educable. The only solution is a permanent one. We have to eradicate them in the same way as we eradicate diseases. The elephants do not have time left for gentle persuasion. Neither do the rhino or any other creatures facing extinction.

Okay, I will be politically incorrect, but maybe it's time. Kill an animal for its body parts? We will hunt you down and use the Biblical "law" of " an eye for an eye" to chain you up, feed you cyanide and cut off your penis. This sounds fair to me? Sorry, but that's a body part too. We'll leave your body to rot on the side of the road.

A sinister controlled world by China for profit. I thought the US were bad, but China will destroy any thing for profit and the $. The sinister companies of the west have given all of our jobs to China, sure the little people there get peanuts for their affords, but we pay for all the shit we are forced to buy and dispose of in the garbage bin. MADE IN CHINA.

As for China, there is no solution to stop the murder of elephants (and others) in Africa to fill the pockets of the Chinese vultures. The day will come when nature WILL take is't course and Chinese will be the prey of bigger natural phenomenons, the sooner the better.
No empire will last forever, China is no exception!

This breaks my heart. I pray that who ever did this or is involved in anyway is strongly punished or even killed by their peers or by God. We don't knee these kind of people in the is earth.

Obviously Africans are the scum of our planet, sorry to say this. On the other hand, China is making them do this, they are the real SCUM of our planet. China has no religion or beliefs. As one Chinese some years ago told me: I believe only in the $, nothing else matters, that is my religion!.
Our once beautiful planet is being ruined by greed and ignorance!
May GOD forgive us for our stupidity1

I agree with Lynn that hanging would be a much better choice for these POS that could do this to these magnificent creatures. These poachers are the scum of the earth and have no respect for life. I assume after the 15 years these useless people will be out and will be poaching again. Hanging would send a strong message to the other poachers.
