This is my final environmentalist posting in the series of great environmentalists I put together as a celebration of the UN Climate Change Summit. Earth is our distressed heroine.

For my final environmentalists posting, I was going to post Senator Gaylord Nelson and the founding of Earth Day.

However, this particular video for the Official Earth Day Anthem for 2014 completely captured my attention. The video is about appreciating and saving what we have. I feel the simple images and insightful lyrics say all I want to say for the conclusion of the environmentalist series.

If, as this song's lyrics tell us, that people are the "dream of the Earth," it is time for us in our daily activities to remember Earth and start giving Earth a good dream.

This song is forward looking and it is about protecting what we have been and are being given by Earth everyday.

The Corporate Monsters series for October leading into Halloween will be about the bad dreams caused by greed of the biggest baddest bunch of bullies ever to have been given (on paper) parasitic person hood by perpetually "easy to purchase" myopic governments.

As we all know, the "Golden Rule" is "Do onto others as you would have them do onto you." The corporations we will be looking at are not even trying to hide their boundless greed and desire to own us and the planet.

One of the corporations we will look at during this series, rephrased the Golden Rule like this. "In the 21st century, the new Golden Rule will be: "He who has the gold, rules."

Witch corporation? Answer to be revealed on Halloween, 10/31/2014.

Good Morning and thank you Betsy for this article - which I read and the video =which I watched- I can not understand why we- humans are racing to kill this planet - it is all we have - and are we so stupid that we can figure out we are causing our own demise --- SHAME ON US --- WATCH UP AMERICA AND THE WORLD ___IT IS ALMOST TOO LATE -- but if we start now really working hard we could slow and even stop some of the death spiral that we are in---- GO VOTE IN NOVEMBER and get these climate changing deniers out of office and let us elect some candidates that want to help us correct our problems and do better--- Sincerely Kay M.

Thank you Betsy for introducing many environmental people I'd either never heard of or had only heard the names but not explored further. This has been an enlightening and fascinating group of posts.

Thank you Betsy...Great video and an even greater message. It is important we humans all heed this message or it will be too late for earth, human kind and worse for animals who have not had a hand in destroying the earth.

Thanks for the post Betsy. Are we going to learn? I'm not so sure! This planet (earth), needs everyone to make a difference! We are losing the other creatures of this planet, people are dying everyday, (Ebola is killing people), people have a lack of food, others throw food away daily! We use the planets resources to the point of excess! What will be the turning point to make the difference! We constantly kill one another!

We know all of these points, and I know there are many more! What are the answers, growing our own food, renewable energy, less exploitation, removing fossil fuels, kindness to all, love for the planet and the creatures that roam it, including ourselves. We have to step out of our comfort zones and embrace our future, become one with the planet and each other, maybe this is turning point, unity even.

I could go on, but all I say, is spread the word, please!

This is a haunting melody for sure, most of the sentiment is right-on, too. But, Betsy, any song with the word "friggin" in it isn't the most lyrical I've ever heard! Here's to cleaning up the earth and poetic expression returning in full force! ;-)

Dave C., you are correct, it only takes a minority to 'screw up the works'.

That was a very nice series pertaining to the environment Betsy, thank you. Maybe the Nordic Type “Tall White” aliens who are reported to have life-spans of approximately 600-700 human years will reveal themselves and help us to save our planet.

One would think a truly sentient species would understand how important the life on their planet is. Without that life, without taking care of our environment, we place ourselves and our only home in deadly danger. That doesn't seem very smart to me, nor do I think the fossil records, and the future history books will fondly remember homo sapiens.

It has been a great series, Betsy. Thank you.
