In view of today's date, we'd like to pay tribute to the longest-running and most successful April Fools' hoax we've yet encountered. In the spring of 2009, a chain e-mail started circulating with claims of a "smoking gun" proving President Obama was->

This is fully researched by a group known well as Fact Check which most thinking people fully acknowledge is one of few sources that is fully nonpartisan. They research FACTS and only facts so that foolish thinking that still continues by those who "want to believe" is one the underlying problems of the anger and growing violence. There are those who simply cannot, will not accept that a democrat is in office, others of a deeper and more malevolent nature who actually wish to see this growing rift between our people - a separation based not on ideology but lies, dissembling, and obfuscations. Health care, the environment, a desperate need for firm, clear and functional regulations on business and banking is mandatory, a serious and determined look at updating and improving our educational system, to name but a few that this administration must - not can but MUST deal with. As long as republicans have chosen to be on the outside looking in their ideas - if they offered any - will remain unimportant to many, in fact the majority. This separation of ideology is not needed and this president has worked to bring together differing ideas and unify them, this too seems to be unacceptable and actually denied, so where then do we find middle ground?

Thanks Kit for the post. It simply proves that our society is degrading at a much faster pace then first thought. There is one fact that still remains in question though, where can the truth actually be found? There is only one I trust with my life, the rest is I'll believe when I see it.

"Call it a testament to the power and quirkiness of the Internet — it can shuttle fake news around at the speed of light, but somehow buzz-killing fact-checks move more slowly." Oh yeah! I keep getting Ancient email "facts" all the time & I'm really tired of having to re-find the Snopes pages or Hoax Busters, etc..!
