The House just voted to make huge cuts in this year’s budget. Poverty-fighting, cost-effective programs--which make up less than one percent of the US budget--were sharply cut. Now it’s the Senate’s turn to weigh in--and we’ve got to urge them to preserve this life-saving funding.

1. Read the petition

Dear Senators,

Please do not cut cost-effective, proven programs that fight HIV/AIDS, hunger and preventable disease in this year's budget. These programs--which make up less than one percent of the budget--save millions of lives, strengthen our national security, and help lift people out of poverty for the long-term.

Noted, signed and forwarded to Facebook. I'm so sick of everything being cut from the poor all the time... seems the rich never have to carry any of the burden. You know, things keep going the way they are there's going to come a day of reckoning. The Tea Party was threatening revolution... well, if they and the Republicans keep messing with folks earning power and their livlihoods, they aint seen nuthin' yet. There's going to be a whole lot of places like Madison, Wisconsin...

See Kit - I'm from Texas when I sign all these USA petitions! Hmph...... :-)

Thanks for Adding Your Voice!

We don't have much time to let the Senate know that we must preserve funding in this year's budget for the world's poor. Help us spread the word and ask your friends to take action today.

From the way things are going, I think we'd better worry about taking care of our own people before stepping out and helping the world. You can't take the mote out of your brother's eye if you have a stake in your own... and our stake is growing bigger by the day.

Happily signed and noted. Thanks, my friend. They need to collect the taxes from big corps and the wealthy before they start robbing the poor and struggling and sick and old and young in this country. What a bunch of hypocrites those Republithugs have become. I'm lucky, I have 2 of the greatest Senators, but have a really crappy Representative. I let him know what I think of his crappy votes.

I rather like the name "Republithugs", Barbara K - sums it up nicely. Big bullies taking from the poor and putting it all into their own bank accounts - I wonder if they know it will be cursed money? signed and noted with thanks, Kit.

Thanks, Arielle. These Republithugs (Regressionists) have become the American form of the Taliban. They use treachery against us to get their own oppressive agenda into action. We need to stop them. Any politician can be Re-called. Just start Re-calling them and let them know they are not going to stomp on us.

Ellen,

I used to think that hate was a disease, and that 9/11 was The Big Lie(s).

...turns out I had it upside down, or backwards:

Hate is THE disease, and 9/11 is A big lie...

(must We permit ourselves to hate, or is it -- must it be -- entirely involuntary? didja ever wonder how/why so many indians would ever [be made to] vote for the party of the chiefs? didja ever consider that We The People have been 'made' to "take sides" in a false, phony, staged, rigged 'fight'? pulled punches are the surest sign of fake opposition...)

Believe it or not, if We The People ever were to rise above our petty, hateful, largely-manufactured differences, and ignore all the professional (just picking up a paycheck; following orders..., a kind of intellectual prostitute) thought leaders (who are really thought polluters and thought CONSTRAINERS), and reclaim Our Constitution, and remember that We (not treason-whore politicians, not the intellectual prostitutes in the media, and certainly not any rogue renegade corrupt Constitution-eviscerating government) have the power, THERE IS A POT OF GOLD, BIGGER THAN MOST OF US HAVE EVER IMAGINED, WAITING FOR US...

I cannot observe Kit's motives, but her observable behaviors (cheering on words like "Replithugs") are those of a petty hate-leader (cheerleader for hating), who is more interested in taking sides in the bogus 2-headed political/control charade that is killing We The People than she is in recognizing it, revealing it, ridiculing it, and rising above it.

There is a way out, People, but -- please trust me on this -- taking sides in the generations-old treasonous pseudo-intellectual equivalent of professional wrestling is not it.

Please get better real soon, Kit.

Signed and Noted! It is amazing that the GOP has forgotten that they were left with a surplus and they are the ones that bankrupted the nation. The citizens are now being brain washed by the perps as to a false fact that they can solve the budget problems.

As usual the repugs have big eyes and no self control. They are overreaching again and they will pay. Only thing that gives me the willies is that due to the shaky economy (shaky due to almost exclusively Republican-run corporations), people are easily cowed into believing their BS.

I now draw a straight line between those boneheads who said I'd rather have a beer with dubya (or dumbya, my preferred spelling) and then voted for him based on thewrong-headed belief that he was like them (as much of a pawn as them perhaps; he might throw up on your boots, but that's about it), and those folks who refuse to think for themselves but allow these hollow politicians to stampede them into hanging themselves.
Hang yourselves, but don't hang the rest of us.

The priorities are obvious, cut spending on the poor and aged, women and children, but keep taxpayer funding for important things... like NASCAR. And those other things...let's see, what are they? Oh yeah, the military industrial complex and subsidies for corporations making multi-billions in profits...... now why would anyone object to this?

Noted and signed! Thanks, Kit!

noted, signed, forwarded. This one sounds important, but given that it's directed to an entire political party that is shooting itself in the belief that those Kochs can buy them another term, I really don't think they care. I think until us peons get out there and stop earning the Kochs more money, they will ignore us. I think when we get serious, our gov't is going to turn on us. We thought they were abusive in the 60's. Just wait.

Let's get something straight, friends ... THESE SENATORS DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. They don't give a damn about the unemployed, uninsured, homeless, elderly, sick, disabled, working poor, single parents, hungry children, etc. All these Americans are viewed as a drain on the economy and must be purged. We are going back to the old slave/master days. Once the wealthy elite breaks the back of the unions and destroys the middle class, America will be finished as a democracy. Then the wealthy will own and control it all. This is their agenda - why don't Americans get it?
